A wonderful place for children of all ages to have an up close and personal encounter with a wide variety of animals, it is a lovely place to visit!
Fun and Free for Kids and Adults, too!
Southeast Lighthouse
#2 of 27 things to do in New Shoreham
For young kids I would take the route going north from town/ferry up to the North lighthouse, past Crescent Beach (a nice beach to be on) - straight up Corn Neck Road which is flatter and straighter though we did...
Absoulutely a must see for families.
North Lighthouse
#3 of 27 things to do in New Shoreham
The kids, 13 and 8, wanted to see the very top of the island which is beyond the North Lighthouse.
Walked to the North Light with 4 adults six kids below 13 and a dog in the afternoon.

We were at Block Island with our son, our expecting daughter-in-law and their 3 children 16, 9 and 7. Corrie was outstanding with our grandkids...gentle, great teacher and knowledgeable.
Corrie is a great instructor and has an easy going way with kids and adults alike.
Mansion Beach

Mansion Beach offers fine sand, surf, space, dunes, bathrooms/shower, and is really perfect for families to relax and enjoy each other.
Very relaxed beach with small waves that the kids loved jumping.
Fred Benson Town Beach

Everyone, children, elderly and everyone in between enjoyed the free music, the silky sand, the cool evening, the dance stage, the friendly people and the awesome view of old harbor.
There are also lifeguards on that stretch of beach, making it very popular with families who have young kids.

There are areas for children, quiet reading, as well as several computers you can sign on to if you don’t have your own.
For children they have two rooms one for toddlers and one for younger to teens.
Great Salt Pond

The harbor is a great place for family fun, and boaters from around the world stop here.
It's practically a second home for meh kids, they've been here so much; in fact I proposed to my wife on a boat here.

You can bring your own beach wagon w chairs and umbrella, cooler (no booze), or you can rent...an umbrella is $19/day... My husband and I went for a mid week getaway w/o the kids and had a ball.
My favorite aspect about this place is that you met all wakes of people, families, newlyweds, fisherman, and tourist.
