Visited this historical church in the heart of Dublin, it is very interesting and beautiful and you can visit the catacombs in the basement of the church, which can be a bit eary, well worth a visit.
We took a guided tour with a terrific guide -- took us to the belfry (where we rang the bells) and the crypt as well as entertaining us with stories of the history of the cathedral.

There is a Norman Knight and his Lady buried here in a beautiful crypt The church is dedicated to St Ouen who was a 7th century Bishop of Rouen in France and who is patron Saint of Normandy.
This was very interesting historically but the biggest surprise was an after mass free concert from a Norwegian choir who sang (among other things) Hallelujah (Leonard Cohen) and Fields of Gold (Sting) Tingling sp...

It's one of the two cathedrals of Kilkenny city - the other one is the ancient St. Canice's cathedral with round tower that dates back to the coming of the Normans as does the Black Abbey as well.
The interior limestone displays the skill of the stonemasons with the columns and arches rising to the roof over.

Gods Cottage is a place of prayer where The Blessed Sacrament is exposed and where one can go for retreats, quiet prayer, healing, forgiveness, love and peace.
I was immediately struck with a sense of peace and contentment as I stood outside Gods Cottage in the dark night , listening to the sound of flowing water.

Lovely situation for the structure too, sitting in a very open area in the large complex that is Dublin Castle, so much to see here, and this just adds very well to the vibe of the place, enjoy!
With pinnacles, stained glass Gothic windows and exceptional stone craft there is much to admire even before stepping in.

After walking the cliff and hills out of Howth, I made sure to make a visit to the ruins of St. Mary's Abbey, situated on a hillside above the bay.
