What travelers are saying
- David DWestchester County, NY63 contributionsWonderful experience with the dolphins and our trainer Alison. Safe with our life jackets we were brought into the lagoon and interacted with two dolphins. The were playful and super intelligent. Definitely do this on your tripWritten May 18, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Kenneth EErwin, TN420 contributionsBeautiful black sand beach but very limited parking. It's in a gated community and they only allow around 20 cars to park at a time. We arrived at 4pm and got in. Beach wasn't busy at all. Plenty of room to spread out. Really good snorkeling off to the left around rocks. Tons of fish and sea urchins. Does get deep about 30yds out but minimal waves.Written May 17, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Kara017Bayport, MN47 contributionsThis is by far my favorite beach on the island. The waves are calm, there is a bit of snorkeling, and shade for the afternoon sun. I gave it 4 stars largely because of the $20 fee that we were told “started today” and the need to arrive early for parking.Written March 11, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Kenneth EErwin, TN420 contributionsVery nice beach. Great for swimming and just chilling. Not much to see snorkeling. Water is crystal clear just no fish or shells anywhere.sand is very soft. Place has bathrooms and showers. It is $10 to park then $5 per person to go to beach. A little highbut place is well maintained.Written May 15, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- passingthrough95El Dorado Hills, CA102 contributionsYou have to go to A Bay if you are in Waikoloa. Easy beach for kids and some snorkeling. Watch out for the tourist boats, though.Written May 2, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Nancy K7 contributionsLoved this bay. Quiet and peaceful with ample seating and lounge chairs. Water was clear and fish were abundantWritten December 20, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Cincy45209San Diego, CA129 contributionsOur family with young kids had fun searching and finding the petroglyphs on a lava path. The walk was better with solid shoes and done earlier to stay out of the heat. The parking is at a shopping center next to a gas station, and it was easily accessed. Spend an hour to appreciate Hawaiian culture.Written April 16, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Catherine GCNew York City, NY19 contributionsAlthough I see some reviewers complaining many stores here are closed ,we very much appreciated having this shopping center just down the street when we stayed at Mauna Lani Point. My daughter and I enjoyed poking around the beachwear shops and grabbed her some flip flops. But the biggest draw was definitely the Foodland. Really solid selection of products, whether you want to pick up prepared foods or ingredients to cook at home, and staff could not have been nicer or more helpful. They made every trip to the store A+. And we loved the selection of local products, esp. the chocolate and dried fruit.Written November 12, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- MIZT13Long Island, NY651 contributionsI have been there numerous times, last one November 2019. Vera and her husband are great people! Always fine artwork to look at and purchase! If you miss Hawaii like I do, can't wait until this is over so I can safely hop a flight and return to my favorite place to visit, just get on Vera's email list. You may see a piece of artwork that catches your eye and reminds you of your past vacations. If you do, just buy it!!!!! Ya need to bring the Aloha to your home for awhile!!!!🌈🌞🌸🏵️🌺🌸🌊Written November 6, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- NoraMilwaukee, WI27 contributionsWe liked Kings Shops but personally liked Queens Market Place better it had more stores and a better variety. The stores were not very interesting to us but the General Store was 10/10 we loved it! We probably went 5 different times and I would like to give a shoutout to Delson who works at the General Store he was so nice and helped us with whatever we needed. Overall I only go for the General Store I don't really like the other places.Written March 22, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Loretta & Chad W2 contributionsMy husband and I visited Lava Light Gallery our 2nd day in Hawaii. We were in awe of the beautiful images the photographers captured. During our entire trip, my husband and I kept talking about the wonderful images the lava flow created especially after our helicopter tour around the island. Our last day there, we went back and purchased an image from CJ's private selection. What is amazing is their photos go well beyond the art work hanging in the gallery! YOU MUST ask them about the "hidden gems" he has!!!
Our beautiful picture arrived less than a week ago. We are so excited to hang it up once our custom lighting is finished!

Thank you for making our first trip to the Big Island a memorable one!Written March 11, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - happy4travelNorthern California1,290 contributionsBeautiful sculptures, incredible, friendly staff and a wonderful display of art. Be sure to take it all in. We loved the beautiful turtles, they looked so real. It means a lot to know these are locally made in Hawaii ❤️ Most are made by glass or wood, which are great! Please continue to use these metals. It helps the local economy.Written July 10, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- m00semanNorth Port, FL32 contributionsWe were lucky enough to take a guided hike, just before sunset, in this amazing forest, that once was a large ecosystem in Hawaii. We saw many endemic plants, like a wili wili tree in bloom, and learned about the Initiative's hard work to restore this forest back to what it was before contact with Europeans. Invasive exotic species have been removed, native plants have been carefully raised from hand picked seeds and are now small trees grown in amongst the lava rocks. If you want to see the real Hawaii, a taste of what the native Hawaiians once lived amongst, or if you are a plant or endemic species lover, the guided hike to the Waikoloa Dry Forest is a must do! We loved our visit and learned so much! It was very touching to see these rare plants that once covered the hillsides!Written January 23, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Jeff CSandy, UT274 contributionsIt’s a misnomer to call this a Farmer’s Market when there is just 1 location that actually sells from grown produce and fruits. There are a couple other vendors selling locally produced jellies and honey but other than that it’s just a few local artisans trying to sell their work. It took us all of 10 minutes (if that) to wander through. It’s as if the purpose of this “Farmer’s” Market is to get people to wander into the permanent shops on location. Not really impressedWritten March 4, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
