Great place to find on an impromptu family road trip!The beach is very well maintained and the park staff is very helpful and friendly.
While tent camping at Sleepy Hollow State Park, we thoroughly enjoyed the sandy beach on Lake Ovid, our shady campsite on the northside of the campground, the children's playground area, and disc golf course.

This is a remarkable park with many trails along the Ledges and you can walk under the historic train trestle.

You really have to educate yourself on which campground in the park is more your cup of tea as one is more "parking lot" style on grass whereas the other is more rustic and has mature trees throughout.

Hawk Island is a wonderful green space in Lansing that has a small swimming area with a beach, an elaborate splash park for the kids to get wet and cool off, plus a very nice play area with wooden gym equipment.
Hawk Island is a fabulous place to take the whole family and enjoy a formal swimming area and water park complete with a giant water slide and giant pools.

This is a very quiet nature preserve with walking paths, sitting/reflecting areas, picnic areas, rehabbed animals in a nice setting.
