Pro tip park behind the Masonic temple at second island . The trail is on the corner by the blue picnic table. The trial is not maintained and narrow at times put still a nice adventure to the ledges. I would hold on to toddlers. The ledges where interesting. Lots of mosquitoes. With proper trail maintenance and improvement this could be a destination. You can also drive to Fitzgerald park pay to park and walk down the stairs. There are other trails but again not maintained.

As a resident of Eaton Rapids, we enjoy visiting the island with family and visiting friends.
Not only is it an intricate part of the city geographically, it carries alot of history within this little Island. The Island has historically been referred to as the GAR Island, due to its use during and after the Civil War. Much of that background can also be gained when you cross from the Island to Main St and visit the GAR Museum just a few doors down from City Hall.
There is a play area for kids, quiet spots just to sit and relax. Public restrooms also serve the area - located just off the bridge as you head to Main St.

We were worried when we parked that it was a mistake. But you walk straight ahead until you get to the top of the ledges. If you walk left for a bit, you can will see stairs going down to the ledges. You can rock climb if you have the equipment. My kids climbed the easiest parts and loved it! There is also a small cave along the trail. We will be back this summer!

Baldwin Park on a river. They have several sports facilities, playground equipment and an old cannon. There are also restrooms and picnic tables. A very nice park.

Tribute Park is located at the VFW National Home for children of fallen warriors. It located close to Waverly road. Noy very large, but moving. The pictures tell the story.
