Well worth a visit if you're staying in Montegrotto. To walk amongst dozens of different butterfly species is a fantastic experience and is a delight for children.

The cathedral towering on the top of the hill is a remarkable landmark of Montegrotto Terme. It looks monumental classics outside but its interior paintings are created in a rather unexpected contemporary art manner. Nevertheless it worth visiting to feel the spirit of the place.

This small Venetian-style villa has recently been restored and is now open, mainly at weekends and run by volunteers. It's a pleasant walk up a wooded path, and the views from the villa are lovely, even as far as Venice across the lagoon on a clear day. My only reservation about the superb restoration would be the ugly modern glass light fittings in all the rooms, totally unsympathetic to the architecture.
Thoughout summer there are events held here, such as outdoor films, talks on flora and fauna, folk dancing and concerts.

A good way to see how the Romans lived a way from the city's and at night they use the site for music events

We walked past this Archeological site a few times during the week. We found 2 information boards telling in Italian and English what we were looking at as well as what the buildings looked like in the past. Did not seem as if you could get a closer look than from the road, perhaps because it was off season. Interesting enough to imagine what used to be here, but when we passed it was just a quick pause to read what was written and then move on.

    The pool itself is extra.
The staff is as a treat (specially Paola which is the best trainer I ever met)

I am a bit disappointed by the group size where we were often more than 6 people on the same line... So you wait more than 15min between each dive. Too few for the expensive 80min... So I would love too have longer session or smaller groups :).
Overall we are very pleased and plan already to get back there!

Swimming in the outdoor thermal pool at night, with just the stars above and lit from under the water was probably one of the romantic points of our stay in Venice.
Excellent variety of steam and different saunas as well as a plethora of different shower options - I decided agains the cold water drop from a suspended bucket!

The light supper included in the offer was also good.

Overall, a really special, well maintained spa offering excellent facilities and value for money.
