What travelers are saying
- Global666672808992 contributionsnice and quiet place , No traffic and noise from cars or motorbikes. The proper mix of Tourists and locals. you are a part of the every day life and not part of a place that is tourist attractionWritten July 26, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - K OEngland4 contributionsThere is a fascinating and beautiful temporary exhibition of photographs by Edward Burtynsky. The images are stunningly attractive but if you read the captions about the subject matter, they explain about the massive destruction of our planet by destroying forests, mineral extraction and over population.
Very thought provoking.Written October 31, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. - FTMDaveAdria, Italy7,733 contributionsI took the train from Mestre to Treviso.
Everything was easy. There is a large ticket office as well as self-service machines in various languages.
Departure boards are all over showing the next departures.
Signs are in Italian and in English.
As always in Italy, scattered around the station there are huge paper displays showing all the departures from the station in chronological order.

- Big LouOklahoma City, OK37 contributionsThe hotel is stunning! And man...the coffee! Probably the best my wife and I ever had. We enjoyed the breakfast, lunch at dinner. Fabienne, Matteo, Veronica ( funny and attentive!), Mara, Tara, Philothea!! You all were amazing! Not to forget the shuttle driver whose name we forgot): Thank you for an unforgettable time in Venice!Written September 22, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Fantastic fresh food counters including fish / seafood, cheese, salads, cooked and raw meat products. A fantastic selection of wines, beers and spirits. All very good prices
Remember to weigh your fresh produce before going to the checkout though!!Written August 24, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. A group of dedicated locals have restored and continuing to restore this once important fort around Venice. They have a done a good job of clearing the site and making it a place you can actually visit.
A good guide is available but I think it is only open at the weekend.Written March 23, 2015This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. - Robert ORotterdam, The Netherlands6,202 contributionsThe cathedral in Mestre is dedicated to San Lorenzo (Saint Lawrence), a deacon of persecuted Christians in Rome early 200s known for charitable work with the poor until he became a martyr. It is not certain whether he was burned with a grill set on fire. Anyway many miracles have been attributed to him.
The neoclassical style facade of the duomo dating from the 1790s is impressive, though I found the masonry where it is visible without plaster as astounding. Imagine the patience and craftmanship of hundreds of workers who put the building together.
The interior is light and adorned with fine sculptures. I attended mass here, but my Italian was just not good enough to understand the sermon.Written November 4, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
