What travelers are saying
- 1424ediebPalos Verdes Estates, CA90 contributionsMy husband and I took a tour in English of the gardens at La Foce. The grounds are beautiful, though not large. The best part of the tour is hearing the history of Iris Origo and La Foce’s involvement in the development of the area and during WWII. We were so interested that we bought one of her books, War in Val D’Orcia, at the gift store there. Note to find the parking lot, when going up the hill, La Foce will be on your right. The parking lot is after the property. Pass the road before the property and the road at the property, then turn at the next one just at the end of the property.Written November 13, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Abdulla H1 contributionWe had the most unforgettable wine tasting at Poggio del Moro winery. We booked in advance by the WhatsApp and have got all the instructions. It was very fast and convenient. The setting is simply beautiful, nestled in the Tuscan hills. The biological organic wines are exceptional—each one is unique and full of character, from classic style to natural wines. The staff made the experience even better with their deep knowledge and passion for the wines. Highly recommend!Written December 3, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- ksufan88Wichita, KS6,795 contributionsWe enjoyed our visit to this museum. It is well done with both original artifacts and reconstructions showing the life and customs of the Etruscan people. There were many signs in both Italian and English that helped us understand what the exhibits were, but we had the services of a guide which was even more helpful in enjoying the museum.Written November 30, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Maisie B1 contributionNot just an incredible museum with interesting displays, but an entire EXPO to explore in the historic centre which is well worth a visit. - the_big_b_dogLondon, UK136 contributionsThis place used to be perfect - 5/5 - however, as a regular customer who has visited over the years I have now noticed that in recent years the place has become noticeably run down and not well maintained in some areas. It is still an enjoyable experience, but as I stated earlier - not as perfect as it once was. For the price one pays, it is hard to call this place good value for money.Written September 5, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. He invited us to visit for a tour of his operation- fascinating! We've been to so many vineyards, but have never seen how sparkling is made. We fell in love with Marco's Millesimato and wish we could get it here in Canada!Written October 2, 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. I met one of the specialists in Monipulciano Christmas fair and she said they had a small supply here if I wanted to visit the shop. What a delight, I raided their supply of papers and I was allowed to chose what I needed, despite the fact I was going to leave them short over the seasonal holidays.
My husband browsed the hand-bound leather books, diaries, notebooks, that had been embossed, personalized and all beautifully bound and expertly fashioned, true artisans and the prices for these hand-worked pieces of art are very reasonable. If we had had more time I am sure we would have bought all of next years presents for the family here.
The shop is located in he very old par f he town, well away from the spas, and parking is an issue, you annot take a car through the archway. Free parking is available behind the petrol station facing he road up here or paid parking at the boom of he hill, its 80c per 30 minsin he blue boxes! yellow for disabled card holders white boxes are free.Written January 3, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - JeanPaulBelmondoBasel, Switzerland736 contributionsAs soon as you cross the Porta Rivellini at the old city entrance you see at your left this small church from the XVI century.
