There is a nice little shop, they have a nice little castle (a keep, really), lots of rocky beaches, and if you take the scenic route along the seafront, you will not regret the additional time it takes to get there.

I would highly recommend Marc and company for rental of the bikes for touring the Wild Atlantic Way in North Mayo or as we did, cycled the greenway in Killala to the nearby Monastery.
Its Greenway track for part of it but most of the cycle is on local roads but they are very quiet.
