Finally got to go there on my 3rd visit to the Island..

We were the first to arrive; and were welcomed by Doreen and her family, who are so nice and treat you as part of the family.
The centre is run by Doreen and her daughter, (they were short-staffed at the time ) but do a great job.
We were shown where the birds are housed , and Doreen gives you a great understanding about all the different birds, their hunting habits as well as their way of life.
You also get up close and personal to some beautiful owls, which was a treat not only for the kids but also the adults, any late arrivals also get to hold them and she explains all info to them so no one is left out or feels like they missed out.
Clearly Doreen loves her birds and they are extremely well cared for .
TAKE NOTE; The centre is only opened for half a day so be sure to arrive early so you won't miss out..

To get there by bus, take the bus to Siggiewi, the driver drops you off at the centre of the village near the church...walk down the church lane towards the main road...once at the main road turn right, walk to the big intersection; then turn left at the intersection up the hill..after a few mins walk you will see the signs to the Falconry...
Her daughter told me the city council keeps removing the signs ( as we didn't see any when arrived at the village ) but people around are all willing to help as they did for us...
Do go there , you will see something different and won't be disappointed...

Having stayed on the Island of Malta 🇲🇹, it was high time for a visit to the Limestone Heritage Pak and Gardens. Far from Dissapointing. A video introduction, audio tour of the gardens and heritage centre. Absolutely fascinating. A very nice coffee shop with gifts to end. Would definitely return sometime.

Part of the gardens were under reconstruction. It was more like a park, and not what you would think as english gardens. Not the whole area is accessible to public.

This is a beautiful square with this impressive church. Unfortunately, you can only visit it during the services, as it seems to be closed most of the time.

We came across this place on one of our drives. It is an outside church, it is peaceful and beautiful. An amazing place to visit, please be respectful during visits and remember you are entering a church.

Fabulous spot for diving. Free of jellyfish when we went, and we found some space to sit (although take a chair or something soft if you’re sitting for hours!)
Ice cream and drinks available from restaurant, although no card payments below €10 so we ended up with extra drinks. Lovely to see local fishing boats, and caves.

There does need to be more litter picking / clearing up in summer months, it def wasn’t the cleanest place to be.

We got picked up from our hotel on Maltese time, which is not necessarily when it's supposed to be, on a very hot evening in an un-air-conditioned people carrier. Not the best start to the evening.
The literature showed a barmy evening, eating alfresco, with traditional dancing, food, wine and music. Well, the evening was barmy but the "alfresco" turned out to be inside, the wine was a bit rough to say the least but, as there was plenty of it after a while you didn't notice. The food was good, interesting and plentiful Maltese cuisine but not for the unadventurous. The dancing supposed to be traditional was,
I thought, a little stage managed and then of course there was the traditional folk music! On an electric organ and guitar? With 40's, 50's, 60's and some even newer pop music? Where, oh, where was the gentle traditional mandolin music of the brochure?
We went as a couple and we were put on a table with another couple and four lads all from the Netherlands which was the one redeeming factor of the evening - unfortunately to the cost of the Maltese Nights. The four lads were going to enjoy themselves and that's exactly what they did, and their humour was infectious. They saved the evening for us. would we go again? Definitely not, which is a great shame as it's good to explore the culture and traditions of the country you're visiting and we've had some great evenings in other places.
Don't get me wrong the Limestone Heritage Centre is beautiful and very interesting - just avoid the Maltese Nights!
