We met our two friendly Icelandic horses - learned a bit about what makes them special, and on our ride around the area Dorothy took us to the best views and shared some local history and travel tips.
My daughter had the privilege of a one-on-one ride with Dorothy amongst lovely scenery and an exhilarating gallop down the beach.

We really enjoyed the half day paddling from Ronas Voe, with an entusiastic and confident Angus who seems to enjoy the day just as much as we did Thanks for a great memory from Shetland!
Angus and Rosalind were good instructors and were patient, helpful, and very informative about both the wildlife and the history of the area.

We also saw a croft house circa 1880 that was fully furnished with period furniture and a peat fire in the fireplace and Jarlshof (prehistoric & Norse settlement where we saw 4000 years of Shetland history).
Her advice proved to be spot on, whether it be original woolen garments, the best fish and chips to be had anywhere, or perhaps best of all, her choice of wildlife locals (puffins!!!) she's your guide!

From the local history as we departed the harbor throughout each island we rounded, there was information shared about the geology as well as finding the best birds and nesting places.
Seabird colonies, Bonxies and gannets feeding next to the boat, excellent commentary from Frank, not just describing the wildlife, but how ecosystems worked etc. Add to that a lot of local history as well and you...
