Goodrich Castle, situated about 10 miles south-south east of Hereford is a superb 12/13 century castle, situated in fantastic, open countryside above a loop in the River Wye near the English-Welsh border.
Unexpectedly found the two young guys working in the English Heritage shop were very keen on their history, knowledgeable and enthusiastic and we thoroughly enjoyed meeting them.

... by Bradley was superb.The house has a fascinating history and Bradley brought it all to life.My group were spellbound by the house .It is very old and quirky, full of interesting things and well worth a visit.
This was perhaps in part due to the excellent commentary by our volunteer guide, Anne, but also to the intricate and fascinating history of the house and its inhabitants over the centuries.
