What travelers are saying
- Helena Holliday2 contributionsFascinating, quirky castle. Beautiful surroundings. Very pretty garden borders. Lovely café and tasteful shop goods. Workers & volunteers seem to want to share their love of the place.Written May 15, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Steve_Grant1Oldham, UK1,322 contributionsThis is a nice house and gardens to visit. The highlight however are the various paintings that the house has on exhibition. We are advised that the house has 10 of the top 100 paintings that the National Trust hold. So if art is you're thing this is a must visit.Written May 14, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Abir13Bucks, England9 contributionsThis was our third visit and we always enjoy the manor and hearing about its history from the guides. I would recommend it to anyone who likes to visit smaller, Tudor houses with plenty of character. Since our last visit, a lovely tea room has been added and the chef was doing a fantastic job running the whole show by himself, calmly and with good humour, even though it was quite a busy lunch time. The food was delicious!Written April 29, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- dontdorainsouthampton5 contributionsMy husband and I visited here as we had always wanted to experience the majesty of birds of prey. We were not at all disappointed. In fact it by far exceeded our expectations. The knowledge and skill was outstanding as was the welcome we received. . Meeting all the birds in the aviary and being able to fly 4 birds was magical. Cannot recommend this experience highly enough. So pleased I found you.Written October 25, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.

- Lily29 contributionsI felt as if I had visited the house before even though I hadn’t, there were only 4 rooms opened to the public we went upstairs to look at one painting and the plaster ceiling none of the upstairs rooms were opened I didn’t mind going upstairs but felt there should have been a sign at the bottom telling people there was nothing to see apart from one picture.
The rooms were nicely furnish and the staff knowledgeable, we had a walk round the grounds and enjoyed the views, hopefully in time more rooms will be opened.Written October 9, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Caroline C7 contributionsBeautiful gardens designed by Tom Stuart-Smith, lovely naturalist style planting and more formal parts too. The staff in the coffee/ticket kiosk were super friendly and polite. Courgette cake was a winner!! Plenty of places to shelter in and out the rain, we spent two hours wandering the gardens, for £9, it was good value for money.Written July 29, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.

Can't say the same about Banbury town. Just the same as any other town.
A walk along the canal, if the weathers fine, is OK although some of barges have seen better days but still a good walk. Their is an Arts & Crafts theatre.Written March 28, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Ben H7 contributionsGreat park to visit.
