Once there, we were greeted by Bjorn, our guide for the day. The fjords were absolutely awe-inspiring, and Bjorn’s colorful personality and enthusiasm made the experience even better. We stopped for a delicious lunch as we continued to explore the stunning landscape. We visited beautiful valleys and waterfalls away from the usual tourist spots with our guide Roald. He shared his knowledge about the Norwegian fjords and the area around Bergen. And Roald answered all our questions about Norwegian culture, history and industry. My husband, son and I wished the day could have been a bit sunnier. But our experiences driving the mountain roads with Roald, gliding along the Naeroyfjord on the ferry, and riding the Flam Railway were invaluable. I thank Sonia for arranging our tour; and I am grateful to Roald for giving us such an extraordinary day. - Brekahn G14 contributionsOne of our favorite things we did when traveling around the Nordic countries! Staff was very knowledgeable and provided us several tidbits of info about fishing, the islands, and Norwegian culture, in general. Perfect trip for any fishing skill levels and desirability of “getting your hands dirty”. I was a novice fisherwoman and the guide walked me through what to do, she also unhooked any caught fish I got because I don’t like touching the live, squiggly things 🙂. However, she allowed other participants to do what they were comfortable with and competent in as long as rules were followed. Views were beautiful and we enjoyed a delicious meal of the fish we caught and some crab caught by the owner. He was so informative of the area, having lived in Bergen all his life, enjoyed listening to his adventures and seeing the amazing views. Also stopped for some yummy treats. - Rahul BWest Chester, OH203 contributionsWe were on a cruise and had 1 day to see Bergen. Another couple from the cruise found Jandis Tours and we decided to join them on this private tour. Vlad was the driver and guide and he was wonderful! Vlad did a great job of showing us so many things. We even had lunch at this beautiful cafe that his friend owns and operates. The food, scenery and staff were wonderful. I highly recommend Jandis Tours and Vlad for any tour in Norway. We were even able to provide Vlad with some history from Columbus, Ohio (Ohio State University)! Our guides were thoughtful and helpful and we enjoyed our time hiking with them. They even provided a delicious pastry and coffee snack for us in their home afterwards. - Carrie M1 contributionI went on a solo trip to Norway this past June & I found this trip on Viator. This was the most amazing part of my trip. Vlad is one of the kindest, most generous people I have ever met. Being a woman solo on a trip & then taking a private tour, I felt comfortable from the first greeting. He is extremely knowledgeable about the region & it's history & he prepared so many resources for me to look at during the drive to each destination (maps, books, pictures, descriptions), it was very thoughtful & made me feel well cared for. The drive was extremely luxurious in his Tesla & he thought of everything, right down to bringing snacks & his homemade glog & had bottles of water on hand for me. He even played music well fitted to whatever environment we were driving through, very magical & serene.
I highly recommend going on any of the tours with Vlad & his wife Jana's company. It was worth every penny & I visited the most beautiful places I could ever imagine with a knowledgeable guide all in one day. I will definitely be back to Norway & will take another tour with these wonderful people. Vlad created a day that we will never forget. One could search the world for a better guide, but no one will be found that is better than Vlad. He made the day so memorable for us and so very special. My wife and I had permanent smiles on our faces for the duration of our tour and journey with Vlad. The moments created by Vlad and JANDIS AS for my wife and me were very much appreciated, special, and unique. In the days that have followed our private tour, I am still in awe of all that Vlad created and shared with us to see and experience on our private tour. Vlad expertly tailored our private tour to be exactly what we wanted and so much more. We could not have dreamed up a better experience. Our expectations were far exceeded. We only wish that Vlad could be our guide at every location around the world that we hope to discover in the years ahead. Vlad is like Michael Jordan...he is incomparable and the absolute very best!
