Loved seeing that area on bike as well as riding through Oslo to see Vigeland Sculpture Park, Royal Palace, downtown, Grunerlokka (waterfalls also) and back to downtown to return bikes.
Our tour guide provided history of Oslo at each stop We visited City Hall, several city highlights, the viking museum, and finished the afternoon with a wonderful lunch before riding back into the city.

... time we had the most amazing time the walk through and the snow well the views were just great we had fun and throwing snow ball at each other the way the snow rests on the trees is just fantastic worth the trip

Take the 5 metro and enjoy a stroll or jog round the lake (3.3km) or just sit and enjoy nature, take a picnic - or use it as a starting point for a longer forest walk such as up to Ullevålseter cafe (5km each way).
Sognsvann Lake is a one of the most easily accessible lakes in all of Oslo, It is right at the end of Line 5 and one can easily walk around the lake, have a picnic, or just grab an ice cream on a nice summers day.

Well worth a visit to this district of Oslo as many of the best museums are based on Bygdoy (the Fram museum, kon-tiki museum, Viking shop museum, the Norwegian folk museum and of course the Royal farmland).
It can be reached by ferry boat from Oslo City Hall (fjord side) or by bus from many places in the city centre area (including Oslo Central railway station (Oslo Jernbanestasjon) and Oslo City Hall (Oslo Rådhuset).

Great snow conditions, excellent and helpful staff, reasonably priced ski hire, easy access via public transport from central Oslo.
We hired toboggans for a very reasonable price and had loads of fun going down the free toboggan run, which was originally built for the 1952 Winter Olympics as the bobsled run.

The staff were smiley, helpful and efficient with the 2 hour trip passing by effortlessly aided by good commentary and an on-board bar/cafe that offered hot and cold drinks and snacks at reasonable prices for Oslo.
It is informative on all the big obvious sights as well as touring the more intimate shores along the islands of the summer cottages.

There are comfortable daybeds, benches and chairs that you can use for free, and, as in all public beaches in Norway, there are yellow bouys marking a no-go zone for boats.
I’ve heard that this bathing area can get quite busy on hot summer days.

This is the place to go if you just want to have fun, and hopefully challenge yourself.
