One of the best museums of specific interest. They have maintained the Fram so well and it is an experience to walk in, around and through this fantastic ship. Historical pictures were displayed all around and there were supporting shows to watch. A lot of Ealing involved.

Fascinating to see how they had preserved the ancient ships. The audiovisual room gave an amazing experience. Great thought has gone to showcase these ships and the ppl they represent.

The exterior of this building is quite ugly and looks brutalist in nature - Soviet type design. Entry is free, you just have to go through the security scan to enter. Upon entry, you can walk around in the main hall which has interesting murals and is a huge, airy space. It's also where they award the Nobel Peace Prize. Worth taking some pics.

It's a very interesting piece of architecture. But mostly from the outside, from the inside, I felt like we did more running on the stairs, than looking at the art (but we were running out of time as well, so that probably affected my experience).
Museum mostly focuses on modern art + Munch. If someone is into that, I think it's still a good museum, with many interesting pieces. At that time, on the top floor was a temporary exhibition, which was actually terrifying. I'm a grown woman enjoying horror movies, but that was... something else. So if you are planning to go with kids - I suggest checking beforehand what kind of temporary exhibition is on.

This is a very special museum. Jan was an excellent guide and the museums follows a very interesting line of thought. It focus it’s mainly on the Bible history on Nordic countries and I liked it doesn’t impose any religious ideas. It states only historical facts and data. It’s surprising and sad that it’s not supported by any foundation which could mean it can end in its closing

Also known as the Norwegian Resistance Museum, this was really worth the visit. Although we knew a fair amount about WWII, we didn't know much about the occupation of Norway from 1940-45, and this was really well done. Mostly static displays of documents, but translated into many languages. Virtually the whole country resisted the occupation as they could, and the impact of the exhibit was moving

Walked to the Nobel Peace Center. Cost 50 NOK each for seniors. Told the story of Alfred Nobel, how the recipient is selected and by whom. How the United Nations came to be and how they benefited from the Nobel prizes. Stories about recipients and stories about journalists and how they are being treated around the world.

I contacted the Visitor Centre directly about an employee how was exemplary.

"(June 2023) I was in Norway for 4 days last month and utilized the Visitors Center. I want to make note of the ease of using the center, cleanliness and professionalism of Olav. I went 2 days in a row for a recommendation of a short trip out of the city and the next day regarding train travel to the airport. Olav assisted me on both occasions and the instructions were very helpful and easy to follow."

Lots of fun both as a get-to-know activity and as bonding with friends:) Clues are interesting, varied, and appropriately scary (we completed the mental hospital room) with hosts Malin and Marianne who were friendly and accommodating. Thanks!

Nice place to spend half an hour. Quite an impressive array of paintings and huge area to wonder around for a bit. Upstairs rooms were closed to public.

The Norwegian Museum of Science and Technology (Teknisk Museum) is a part of Oslo called Kjelsås that could be reached from the city centre by train, tram and bus. In the modern building are exhibitions on science and technology that are focused on several topics. On the ground floor is presented the development of different means of transport (cars, railway), the technology used in entertainment, the science of musical instruments, and the history of medicine as well as industry. Many showcases are supplemented by interactive panels that allow one to learn more about the subject. Furthermore, it is possible to have a conversation with artificial intelligence on selected topics. In the basement are interactive workshops and exhibitions related to technology, physics, chemistry and medicine. These through the play can teach one interesting issue related to these branches of science. They are prepared for visitors of every age providing entertainment and knowledge.

In the museum is a lot of places to rest and relax, including a restaurant providing a variety of meals.

Opening the handle to the wee door and stepping into the darkness before your eyes adjust is such a freaky feeling. The skeleton mural above the ashes at the door is beautiful. So much detail to look at. The acoustics in the room are so unique, wish I could have attended one of the concerts here.

It is important for everyone to be aware of the events of the 22nd July and to remember the innocent victims who lost their lives.
The Information Centre ensures that we will not forget.
The filmed interviews with the survivors brings home the terrible events of that day.
The most moving section is to see the photographs of the victims and to be reminded of how young they were and the future that was snatched away from them.
May they all rest in peace and may we all remember their sacrifice.
