- Juliana VBogota, Colombia50 contributionsBeautiful Park! The sculptures are amazing, even for our teen daughter. She also had a laugh with some of them. Really worth the visit.Written August 13, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Happy TravellerSydney, Australia5,373 contributionsOur cruise ship was docked in the fjord for 2 days. We did a one and a half hour electric cruise around the fjords in Oslo. It was very quiet but also extremely slow which was a bit frustrating. And the other people on the cruise were very noisy so it took away from the beautiful views. watching fjords for the two days, show that this area is vibrant and extremely busy in the harbour area. There are massive fairies going to other countries and smaller fairies going to the small islands it’s very interesting to watchWritten August 10, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Happy TravellerSydney, Australia5,373 contributionsWonderfully maintained park. Spacious with of course all those amazing sculptures…. So glad we had a guide to explain the intricacies of the park and sculptures…. Well worth a visitWritten August 11, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- LolaGo1Washington DC, DC6,210 contributionsI took Bus # 30 to visit this attraction. The street is narrow and our bus had to wait for the big tour bus to pass by becore we could proceed.
There are many sailboats docked at the left side as we drive by. The neighborhood appears to be for the wealthy as most houses are big.
I visited 3 museums here: Fram, Kon-Tiki, and Maritime Museum. The views behind the Fram and Maritime Museums are beautiful. There are some statues of explorers near the FRAM Miseum. There are areas to watch the boats in the water, a cruise ship, etc.Written May 10, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Beautiful lake, lots of waterfowl, a peaceful place to clear your mind or enjoy a break from the city. Wonderful for running as well.Written August 17, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Leddfoot6 contributionsI think that it is awesome that you can sled for 10 minutes nonstop. Just catch the train back up. Warm coffee and waffles up top make it awesomWritten February 24, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- orion0116Calgary, Alberta71 contributionsThis statue park is a good foil for Vigelandsparken.. this one has many artists over many years with each piece standing alone. It’s easy to get to the park by tram. Before you come, take a picture of the map to know where you are going and maybe look online to pick out which is the pieces you want to walk to. Be aware that there are not a lot of bathrooms and these will cost you to enter. And.. museum and cafe are not open everyday. You could spend many hours here and get a lot of hiking done as well.Written August 1, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Sue CMelbourne, Australia64 contributionsWe had limited time in Oslo but wanted to experience their walking trails so at the suggestion of a reviewer, we decided to catch the metro to Frognerseteren. After 20 metro stops we found our way to the tranquility and quietness of being out of the city. We followed the trail to Tryvannstua using the blue markers on the tree trunks. It was lovely to meet locals who were out walking with their English setters and had brief chats to them about our travel through Norway. We chanced upon the cafe which served delicious cardamom and cinnamon buns which we rewarded ourselves with together with cups of coffee! Would definitely recommend following this trail if you decide to go walking “out in the country”.Written September 10, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Maccfan500Manchester, UK44 contributionsTook Metro to the end of the line at Frognerseteren and then followed signposts for an enjoyable 10KM walk down through the forest to rejoin a metro stop lower down. Tranquil forest with easy to follow trails. Came to great view over Oslo and also across to the ski jump. So close to the city and yet so much in the countyside.Written July 3, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - WuffaLondon82 contributionsHovedoya is a wooded island that is just a short hop by ferry from Aker Brygge. You can buy tickets (Zone 1…one price per trip) from the Ruter app or the kiosk near the ferry piers. Hovedoya has quiet woodland walks, and secluded beaches and rocky coves. The water is great for swimming (in the summer). There are the ruins of an old monastery which is worth a ramble through and a nice cafe serving snacks, meals, ice creams and even beer. It was sunny and warm when we visited and we easily spent 5 hours there. I would really recommend this trip to anyone…not sure what it would be like in winter though!!!Written July 12, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - siddellaHigh Wycombe, UK27 contributionsThis was a really enjoyable walk through the heart of Oslo. I couldn’t decide from the various reviews which end of this river was the best starting point, so as I was staying in the city centre I started at that end and walked up as far as Nydalen. For the first section as far as the Labour museum (also worth a visit but only open at weekends) I had the benefit of the excellent Voicemap app, which provided lots of useful information about the area’s industrial past.
It’s impressive to see what a great job has been made of rehabilitating the river, especially bearing in mind the quantities of industrial waste that have been poured into it over the years. I was sorry not to have time to walk the entire length, but it was a very easy journey back into town on the metro from Nydalen.Written June 18, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - SuriNew York City, NY100 contributionsCute street for pictures.
Small street with cute little cottage doll size homes. Be mindful, residents actually live here so don’t go overboard with photo session.Written June 20, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - permiaIreland40,176 contributionsA great place for relaxing, cooling off and dining. Swimming facilities are top rate and all with superb vistas around the body of water.
Greenery is present. And afterwards there is a fine choice of restaurants to enjoy lunch or dinner. We had a delicious lunch in the grand Seaport.Written August 22, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
