One of the highlights of a recent visit to Oslo. If you want to see how people have lived over the centuries this is a great place to come. Loads to see, an excellent cafe and all reasonably priced. Once the new Viking Museum moves to the site this will be a very full day's visit but even more worthwhile. As a further bonus the boat trip across to Bydgoy and the local scenery are fabulous. Highly recommended.

It’s a lovely recreational space at the heart of the city. Green areas provide relaxing walking or seating, with numerous benches to avail of.

A great sculpture dating from 1990 is Dykkar Installation commonly known as Divers. It shows six divers on zip-lines ostensibly speeding towards the water. It was crafted by the Norwegian artist Ola Enstad.

Using the waters of Akerselva numerous small boats lie in wait to be used for paddling pleasure.

Cold water, bad service and dirty. Stay away, because this is really bad. Find another place to take a swim!
