- Klaudia_KarpinskaOslo, Norway106 contributionsIn the several rooms of this interesting museum are presented sculptures and models that were created by well-known Norwegian artist Gustav Vigeland. There are concepts of sculptures that are now part of the bridge, fountain and obelisk in the park in Frogner in Oslo. Furthermore, in the museum are also several models that were never realised on the full scale (some of them showing Vigeland's visions of heroes of sagas and Eddic poems).Written July 23, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Justin VBirmingham, UK572 contributionsBrilliant museum and gallery with truly wide range of interesting exhibits and pieces.
We particularly enjoyed the gallery dedicated to artists not normally seen in the context of art galleries and national collections and the Norwegian design through the ages was also really interestingWritten July 27, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. But mostly from the outside, from the inside, I felt like we did more running on the stairs, than looking at the art (but we were running out of time as well, so that probably affected my experience).
Museum mostly focuses on modern art + Munch. If someone is into that, I think it's still a good museum, with many interesting pieces. At that time, on the top floor was a temporary exhibition, which was actually terrifying. I'm a grown woman enjoying horror movies, but that was... something else. So if you are planning to go with kids - I suggest checking beforehand what kind of temporary exhibition is on.Written June 18, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - NudnikheadacheGlasgow, UK93 contributionsOpening the handle to the wee door and stepping into the darkness before your eyes adjust is such a freaky feeling. The skeleton mural above the ashes at the door is beautiful. So much detail to look at. The acoustics in the room are so unique, wish I could have attended one of the concerts here.Written August 6, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - HannahNottinghamshire, UK49 contributionsWe were visiting Holmenkollen and decided to travel onto Frognerseteren via the t-bane. The metro stop is at the site itself so 30 seconds walk and you’re at the ticket office. We really found this a fascinating place to visit. Painted portraits and scenes showing detail from the Nazi occupation of Norway. Some stunning paintings around a circular route which allows you to revisit any part of the exhibition. There’s a bonus of a fantastic view over Oslo and stunning metro ride from Oslo S. Well worth a visitWritten October 16, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- VinterIdaNorway38 contributionsI did not really know what to expect from this museum, but it turned out to be quite interesting and amusing.
Many of the bottles don't look like bottles at all, and we had lots of fun trying to figure out where the cork was. Other bottles have a lot of history to them.

Did not get a photo of the appetizer, but it was asparagus spears with a hardboiled egg on top with a very good cream sauce. Dinner was
either a nice thick slice of pork or an even larger piece of halibut. Both served with small potatoes, vegetables, and a light sauce or gravy. Dessert was bread pudding with a sauce and strawberries.Written October 22, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Built in the mid 1800s the stables were enlarged by the then King and Queen in 1911. For decades after WWII they were used just for storage.
Launched anew in 2017 when opened as an art gallery on the occasion of the Queen’s 80th birthday. Interesting to learn that the Stables were a birthday gift from the King to her.Written June 14, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
