What travelers are saying
- Mohamed WahballahOslo, Norway82 contributionsThe place is very easy to reach and in zone 1. The nature there is fascinating, you can take a walk around the lake, watch the nice looking houses/buildings, go to the farm and see some animals. Also there’s a cafe if you want to get some snacks.Written October 10, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - kristin mOslo, Norway161 contributionsBeautifully situated at Ekebergsletta (can easily be combined with a trip to the sculpture park), with more than 100 animals walking freely around, this is a great spot to spend a few hours to relax and wind down. Ponyrides for the youngest. Cafe and relax area. take the tram or bus form the city center.Written July 6, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - katatkaOslo, Norway58 contributionsMy 2 year old love coming here. Its a great oppurtunity to see farm animals and learn where our food comes from.
He loves to feed the goats and look for eggs in the chicken house. We go there almost once a month.Written March 3, 2015This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. I e-mailed and arranged a date and time.
The whole weekend in Oslo was great, but this was an amazing experience and shouldn't be missed (for young and old).
We (I, partner & 21 month old daughter) arrived to find our horse ready to be hitched up to an amazing looking sleigh, covered in furs.
The red farm buildings and surroundings were covered in snow - really great location and setting.
You could tell the horse was very well cared for.
We were given the option of the short or long trip (we took long). We spent 30 minutes being taken through a track in the woods, over snowy fields and down steep slopes - with the horse doing the hard work, whilst we stayed under the furs.
The driver gave some really intersting insights as we went around.
We returned a little chilly in the face, but exhilerated, to find a fire buring away outside, that we could warm by. Hot blackcurrant and snacks followed whilst we got some life back in our fingers.
We were then shown the animals they have in a barn (all looked very well looked after) which is normally for a local children's petting zoo, including a rescued house pig who was happy to trot about by our feet.
We then finished with sledging using huge inflatable rings, down a snowy slope, especially channelled out. A great feeling flying down the hill (but not so good hiking back up to the top!).
All of Oslo was great, but for something that's 20 minutes out of the city, more people should do this (not sure they advertsise that much?).
Summary / tips:
Book ahead, ideally when there would be snow.
Cost NOK 300 each (including kids/infants - i.e. not free)
Taxi takes 20 minutes from the city (cost about NOK 400 each way)
Maybe better if taxi waits for you (takes total 45-60 mins)
Wrap up warm

Elveli delivered. For a price of 1000,- we got the trip (45 mins) plus a lit camp fire where we could cook hot dogs. A toilet right by, and Rodels we could use, did not hurt. Highly recommended!Written February 17, 2015This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- TraductoraOslo, Norway446 contributionsWe visited this farm in December in order to chop down our own Christmas tree. There was very little snow, so the carriage wasn't able to take us far into the forest, but it was fun. We spent 3 1/2 hours here. During that time we went on a carriage ride, selected and chopped down our own tree, the children jumped in the hay, there was a roaring campfire to relax by. The latter was wonderful, as it was a very cold day. Next time we'll have to bring hot dogs and things to roast, as we were very hungry. There were animals to pet and a horse to ride. We were served gløgg and there were gingerbread cookies.
This is well worth a visit. Just dress warmly and bring food!Written May 2, 2015This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
