Two ships sailed at the same time, ours, the Christiana, and Helen, from deck 4, in front of the City Hall. Ours was peaceful, with soft recorded music and family and friends talking, taking photographs. The other was a party boat, with loud live music, people cheering, yelling (even “mooning” at us). Both were running in motors and not sails, that were nowhere to be seen.
The ship was fully booked and we had to wait standing until the captain found us a place, on a table that had been added, wich we shared with a family of three.
It was a smooth tour around the fjord. When the buffet was ready, we had to go downstairs, through a steep, narrow stair, to grab bread, butter, lettuce and whole cold shrimps; after removing the head and shell, they were rather small (cocktail size or U-30).
The bar had wine, champage, beer, soft drinks, tea, coffee and water for sell. It was getting cloudy and the captain did his best to place us behind a clear spot, but around 9:00 he couldn’t avoid the rain anymore and we all rush down to the windowless ship cask. A Russian or Polish group started playing guitar and singing softly, very nicely.
After about 30 minutes the rain stopped and we all emerged, using the ship’s blankets to sit on the wer benches, in time to see the return to harbor.
