It offers epic views on a clear day, and much less crowded than the city. Snowmobiling tour or skiing tour with guide strongly recommended, as the best scenic areas are off-road. It is also worth to spend more days in the area for exploring on foot. It was a little difficult but the other topics sounded boring so we took this one instead… and we came back happy from the experience :-) we have done Escape Rooms all over the world, is kind of our thing.
The only thing we missed was that there is no spot to take a photo with the “prize” or something related to the topic saying that “we did it!”. He was very knowledgeable about the phenomenon and quite courteous. Our tour came with a meal and photographs both of which were excellently done. They were able to accommodate for our dietary preferences as well. He knew where to stop and chose locations that were both picturesque and less crowded. We've enjoyed the beautiful nature, the wild reindeers and the "snowfall-Picknick" on the beach with the best hot chocolat I've ever had! - Eat.Stay.PlaySouthern Queensland, Australia23 contributionsWOW, what a journey we are a family of 4 from Australia and as dog lovers we decided to do the guided Dog Sledding. We where picked up In Tromso by there very comfortable bus and transported to their facility, from the moment we arrived they are straight into it like a well oiled machine. They promptly had has dressed in supplied boots and overalls to keep you warm and had us in the sleigh and off on the journey. The trail they took was majestic such beautiful views. On arrival back at base you are invited to sit down around a fire and are given warm drinks and a meal before boarding the bus for the return journey. Between returning from sleigh ride and meal there is ample time to spend with the dogs to pat them and give them thanks for all their hard work. If I could give this business a higher rating I would. I wish I was here another day to do another tour with this company! We were informed that he was very professional and knowledgeable back then and clearly that has not changed. Dan went above and beyond to make sure his guests had the best experience and his expertise in hunting out the Aurora paid dividends both nights. I had a slight hiccup with my own camera and Dan was able to correct the issue as he’s also an experienced photographer. Although I took many of my own photos, he also shared his own wonderful shots which we received promptly the following morning. I can’t praise Dan the Aurora Man enough. It was a great experience, thanks to the beautiful landscapes they showed us and especially the love they put into what they do. Our guide Andrei was great, choosing beautiful stops of Fjords, beautiful landscapes and always giving useful information of the spots. - Stephanie P1 contributionWe went on all three tours with Polar charter and couldn't be happier with their service. Masha is an amazing guide and will really go out of her way to make these trips memorable and pleasant for everyone, and all the crew are super welcoming. Plus the food is delicious and plentiful.
In Barentsburg, our local guide Elena was also fantastic.
However, the guide we got in Pyramiden (Igor) should really change jobs because his tour was just horrible. We were rushed from one place to the next by someone who obviously did not want to be there and just wanted to get the tour over with as quickly as possible... still, I was glad to be able to visit this incredible ghost town.
BTW, we were traveling with our 1 year old daughter and she had a great time! Everyone on board made her (and us) feel really comfortable and welcome.

We have zero regrets though! Our hike on the Kvaløya island was an excellent experience with spectacular views of both Ersfjord and Kaldfjord!
As people with office jobs who go hiking for just 1-2 weeks a year, we found the terrain a bit challenging initially, partly due to the occasional drizzle that made some rocks slippery. However, thanks to our fantastic guide Lars, who assisted us whenever necessary, we felt safe and were able to enjoy ourselves throughout the hike. Lars also shared fascinating insights about life in Tromsø and Kvaløya, along with stories of his work with dogs. The delicious biscuits and tea/coffee he treated us to at the top added a lovely touch to our adventure.
Being content with the views and the bit of sunshine we got at our lunch spot, we decided against going further to the tallest peak. The entire experience thus lasted about 5-6 hours (a little less than suggested on the website), but it was thoroughly enjoyable. I contacted him as I wanted to find a private Northern Lights tour that would accommodate our two young children (3&5). Unfortunately we had total cloud cover forecast for our tour so we were offered a cancellation or a selection of different areas to visit, one of which was a 3 hour drive away. Daniel kindly went through all the forecasts with me and together we made the decision to opt for the longer drive. He made sure we were comfortable throughout and he brought snacks, drinks and even thought to bring extra warm clothes & blankets for the children. Thanks to Daniel we found a secluded area of clear sky and we got to see the beautiful Northern Lights. Seeing them together as a family without crowds of people around was a once in a lifetime opportunity. The best part about working with them was how much they cared. Prior to the trip, they answered a lot of my personal questions. While on the trip, you could tell they cared deeply about giving us the best possible experience.
For us, this meant driving hours into Finland in order to get past the snow clouds, which had covered 6 for more than two days.
We stopped numerous times in order to hunt for the best possible lights.
Other highlights include:

- They have extra gear, but please dress warm
- Friendly staff
