Stunning panorama of Tromso. It can be windy up there, but you can hide in nice restaurant and drink a cup of hot chocolate.

Beautiful views from a boat. Booked a tour with 'Polar adventures'. They were so friendly. Would definitely recommend to book with them. When on boat wrap up warm and go outside to take in all the beautiful views! Surreal to see the mountains covered in snow, under blue skies in such calm seas. Stunning experience!

    Worth a visit
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit here and stayed about 2.5 hrs. There is a lot of information available and the three films are worth watching, especially the Svalbard one ( where we were travelling on to). The facts presented on global warming do make sobering reading.
We attended the seal feeding session which was lovely to watch. There seems a good rapport between the trainers and the seals. I'm not a fan of any animal in (unnecessary) captivity but the seals here are well looked after and seem very content. One of the trainers/researcher was very happy to answer questions at length and was knowledgeable. I hope the French seal visitor settles in well when he arrives!!
Currently there is building happening to extend the museum which will include a new outdoor pool for the seals. Thus there is some noise.

The museum came highly rated to visit, and for most of the exhibition it was quite informative.
A bit of a mix between geology and history which was not expected.
However we spent about 3.5 hours in the museum, and the staff were quite helpful.

We were there on a tour with The Green Adventure, really beautiful place and nice beach. We will never forget this arctic picnic in this village.

We went in one winter night to try and catch the auroras. No luck with such cloudy skies but we appreciated the serenity of the place, and the fact that they have benches to sit on, especially that Aurora chasing can take hours and the ground is icy wet.

Had the most fun at this science centre with my boyfriend. The exhibits are great for kids and adults who are young at heart. We had a lot of time to explore the activities with very few other people around and then enjoyed the magical show at the planetarium which explained all about the Northern Lights and gave us a pretend experience incase we didn’t see them in person.

It was a fun little place to wander through. The museum is not very big (really only 2 big areas of displays) but had lots of interesting details about trolls and their Norwegian folklore. Neat to walk through and see the displays and they let you take some CGI pics with trolls and email them to yourself.

If you are staying in Tromsø and the sky is looking clear this is one of the darker places you can go to see the lights without leaving the island. It was a half hour walk (uphill) from the centre of Tromsø. The roads are really well lit but shoe spikes might be advisable.

I was really lucky as got to experience an hour of ever changing lights the night that I went.

Nice bridge linking both sides of the town, only takes about 15 minutes to walk across, I did it in winter and had no issues.

Views are nice, on other side is artic cathedral and cable car, so important bridge to the town and people.

Spent a rainy afternoon in Tromso reading in a cozy nook. The library is massive and so well lit. The views on one side are lovely and the whole place has a warm, welcoming ambience. Saw several folks sitting and working away on their laptop and there was also a kids section downstairs to keep the little ones entertained. There’s also a cafe though we didn’t try it out. Perfect if you’re a book lover and have a few hours to spare in Tromso and looking for something chill and relaxing to do.

Great selection of stores, free parking, possible to charge your electric car. Even a play room for smaller kids if you need some free time and they are over 4 years old

It was a pretty rainy day when we went, but still most of the animals were outside. You can go into their "stables" - which are very cute red houses - to read about the animal and learn a bit more about their habits.
The zoo is big enough to spend half a day with children who are interested. Our 17 month old does not yet have the focus to spend a lot of time with each animal, so it took us an hour.
The family run business has a variety of animals on display (donkey, horses, goats of all sorts, fowl, ...). They seem to be very well taken care of. And on top of that the owners are incredibly nice and hospitable.
Be aware that they do not take all foreign bankcards, so bring cash to make sure.
    Very well worth a visit!
