The theme of the display was meant to highlight how few female artists had been recognised over the centuries (something like 20% - can't recall exactly), and they did this by only covering ~20% of the wall space with pictures.
I was rather let down as I had hoped to see a lot of great Norwegian art by great artists of any gender.
