Make no mistake, this is not a sophisticated dinner or a sophisticated evening; it is designed for large groups of extra-european tourists and you can't expect sophistication. However, it is all very well designed and organised, and it turns out to be a pleasant event, even if you know Vienna very well. The venues is the cellar of the City hall (the name says it), and it is incredibly vast, with long corridors sided with elegant dining rooms. The Austrian Dinner Show is in the farthest room, and you won't be alone. The food is average ("traditional"), so is the service, so are the drinks. Fixed menu, no choice - but they do accommodate for any individual needs (gluten-free, no beef, etc.) The show is also average in its inception, but it turns out to be very pleasant. The music (a piano, two violins, a cello and a flute) plays a first half of country folk songs, and a second part of more formal operetta arias. The two dancers are very good, and the four singers are good actors - and a soprano in particular has a great voice. In all, a pleasant evening.
