Huge cemetery. If, like many, you are only going for the famous composers then depart the tram at tor 2 and enter, you're only a 5-10 minute walk. Strauss, Schubert, Beethoven, Brahms all in the exact same plot. There is a memorial to Mozart but this is not where he is buried. Also on the same plot is the grave stone featured on the front cover and video for Vienna by Ultravox. 10 minutes walk from here you will find the grave of Austrian pop star Falco and it's clear how adored he was/is. Fascinating experience. You could aownd hours walking around I am sure, we went just for those I've mentioned. Probably about 40 minutes on the tram from the centre but we'll worth it.

Such a creepy yet beautiful cemetery. We went specifically to see Mozart’s “grave”. The only reason for only 4 stars was the fact that his grave was a bit overgrown with weeds and seemed disrespectful.

This cemetry is a bit hard to find. I took the Ubahn and the local bus 76A. Do not take any other bus. You will see a wiener stand then look to the right and there is a path but you will see the sign. It is about a 5 minute walk from the weiner stand. I did not know what to expect. This cemetry is very small and has no dates on the headstones of people who passed. I kind of got creeped out because it is the middle of no where.

Visitors to the Zentralfriedhof should not neglect to visit this church, which is a fine example of Art Nouveau architecture and decoration. It has the additional attraction of not being overcrowded like, say, the Stephansdom. It is a beautiful space, conducive to peaceful thoughts. Highly recommended.

Quite a big cemetery, not far from schonbrunn park, easy to visit both. Parking around is possible. Nice to walk through and see.
Wagner and klimt are buried here but there are a lot of very old and nice grave stones and little monuments to the past. Several entrances are possible.

An unassumed cemetery in Vienna's 19th District. It doesn't appear in many tourist maps. doesn’t appear on many tourist maps. Yet here you’ll find the grave of Gustav Mahler (1860 – 1911), one of the world’s greatest composers and conductors. His wife, Alma Mahler is buried here too, not next to him though.

Schubert and Beethoven were buried here before their remains were moved to the Zentralfriedhof. I visited speculatively only to discover that it was locked and that you needed to phone a number on the notice board for it to be opened. Possibly one just for music fanatics but it looked picturesque and I would like to have seen the monuments though didn’t have time to organise on this occasion.

Every great Viennese composer is buried in the Hero's Grove in the Central Cemetery (Zentral Friedhof) except for Austria's favorite son: Mozart. It is worth a taxi ride to the semi-industrial neighborhood that is the home of the Cemetery of St. Marx (Marxer Friedhof) where you will find his resting place..

It remains an everlasting element of angst for the Viennese that this prince of music was committed to a communal grave, in a long-since closed burying ground that received its final residents around 1825. Sic transit gloria mundi.

Standing in front of Mozart's grave is a strangely affecting experience. A trip to Vienna is not complete without a visit.
