Tourist bus tours are not normally my thing - they're... erm... touristy.
But - both the live commentry night tour and a day playing on the red and blue routes were filled with very useful snippets of history, interesting facts, and local information about what to see and where to go. Going in November means you can safely and effortlsy see the best bits in daylight and at night (amazing lights!). There were a few gremlins, you do need to be diligent with your headphones (nice little souvineers provided) and occasionally your stop is a surprise.
The traffic around Vienna is pretty awful and I'm in awe with each of the drivers who can poke their Big Bus seemingly around any corner and through any tiny gap! I found all staff friendly, and the electric busses quiet and clean. Totally recommended for a bit of city exploring... Supplemented with the included city centre walking tours, and job's a good 'un :o)
