Palace was beautiful, with lovely views outside to take amazing pictures. I enjoyed the historical narration provided by the staff. There were costumed people on horses to add to the ambiance and authenticity of the gardens and palace.

One of the most charming old towns I’ve been to in Europe. It is fairly small and easy to navigate which helps, and has beautiful architecture

It is no surprise to me that this is the number 1 rated attraction in Salzburg. I spent approximately 4 hours here but even that didn’t suffice. There is so much to see, the medieval rooms, the viewing platform from which you can see Hitler’s Eagles Nest in neighbouring Bavaria, the war museum, the armoury, and more

We only went to the top of the funicular but it was well worth it. But DON'T try walking back. Initially it's very pleasant but fairly soon the pavement disappears and walking becomes dangerous. Take the bus.

A very beautiful and historic part of the city, no visit to Vienna is complete without at least a couple days spent in the old town

Breathtaking views of the Alps and the charming town of Hallstatt. You definitely have to go if you visit; this was one of my favorite activities there. Reminds me of Sound of Music.

You don't have to hike the mountain to enjoy fantastic views of the mountains and valleys around Villach. The alpine road, known as the Villach Alpinstrasse winds it's way westaerds up to the Dorbratsch mountain. Turn onto it from the Villah Strasse at the Alpine sports park and enjoy the twisting turns as you gain height. Along the way, there are numers small car parks and viewing points that offer spectacular views over the vallys ot the south and one to the north east. Along the way and at the end, there are several places to eat. Perhaps the one thing that makes this such an accessable attraction, is that you can catch a regular service public transport bus up and down the mountian! Another option for the adventurous, is to hike it.
Well worth the journey for the views in all seasons.

This is a must do whilst in the area. Don’t be put off by the need to change modes of transport to get to the top. When you get there the views are tremendous.

A very picturesque town on the bank of the lake. The town has only one street, with lovely wooden buildings on each side. Worth climbing up to the church to see the small grave yard and crypt. Also the boat journey on the Lake is Worth while

Saw Rigoletto, a year delayed thanks to COVID. Stunning spectacle, against a dramatic cloudy sunset backdrop, with fantastic on stage lighting, sound and scenic effects. Acoustics better than we expected, with clear unaided vocals. The outdoor theatre is indeed an impressive structure. Worth another trip !

8 years in (went in 2016) and my now 17 tear old
Son is still about this place as being his highlight. “I didn’t get bored Like all those other museums because I got to push buttons. It was interactive and about science and things.” He says.

This is the biggest church in Austria and has very pretty, contemporary stained glass windows. Different to the traditional cathedral and worth a visit

These beautiful and famous gardens are worth a visit, especially for fans of The Sound of Music. There are many benches, too, and in the shade
