Nectar. Sit in one of the several halls or grab a seat in the huge, 1400-seat biergarten, nestled beneath ancient chestnut trees. We were there on a weeknight and there was not an empty seat! - AK8397Ontario, Canada1,052 contributionsWe had a tour of this lovely, fairy-tale castle overlooking the Wachau Valley. It is situated on a beautiful estate full of lawns, gardens and trees. The castle is of historical significance as it was once the home of Archduke Ferdinand, whose assassination was what launched World War 1. It has been well-preserved, with the main floor serving as a museum about the life and times of the Archduke.
Some of his descendants still live in the upper floors of the castle. We were surprised when the Princess appeared, welcoming us to the castle and telling us about some of its history and about the people who have lived there. She was charming and engaging, and answered questions posed by the group. The only thing I would say is to make sure everyone in your group pays for the sane wine flight. Fairly central with excellent staff - it gives the impression of being run by friends enjoying themselves and this translates into the relaxed, welcoming atmosphere.
The cocktails are great, the design cool and the tunes are nicely varied.

We arrived early midweek so had a fabulous table by the window. A fantastic way to start the day in fabulous surroundings. 1st was a top effort and lovely flavour, just a touch to much ice but easier to flick out, proper knew his stuff as well. Proper but the sour in whiskey sour this was a 10 on all fronts Not sure might of even been the owner. 2nd was a solid effort by the younger Barman but was only a solid 8/10. Was good but the egg white on the sour wasn’t as whipped. Staff is friendly, and i would say that this place is cheap, for the center of Vienna. Tip-try "StaroBrno", it is very good lager. Best looking bar we have ever been too, however… our cocktail was disgusting! We paid €18 EACH for a glass of cream with pink food dye and a marshmallow on top - tasted nothing like the description. We were really disappointed by this :(
We did still have a lovely end to our evening here though and would recommend going for the experience. The venue did not disappoint, with an unobstructed view of the stage, good audio and a great atmosphere.
