This is one not to be missed!
Please ignore the negative nellies. This is a brilliant site, with beautifully preserved Roman mosaics.
Download the app for loads of info.

Yes it’s hot, but you’re in Cyprus. Bring water, comfy shoes and go as early as you can!

There are a number of exits if you don’t want to return to the main harbour.

Lovely place to relax next to the sea, big choice of souvenir shops, coffee shops and restaurants. Always visit when in Paphos.

Excellent beers, great food. Friendly hosts and attentive staff. A great afternoon for beer and food lovers. This is a must visit microbrewery when in the Paphos area.
Booking the experience visit online seems to be easier than through the holiday reps. The process to book is easy (I did it on my smartphone). Communication was excellent and the experience afternoon was great value.
I would thoroughly recommend this to anyone who likes locally brewed beers, and the pizza or barbecue food caps the experience off.

Nice water park, limited food options. Didn’t have to wait long in a queue to get on a ride. Towel hire would be a good idea.

This was part of a trip booked prior to our visit to Cyprus.

We were taken to the gorge by our driver Angelo and taken around the gauge in a group.

We were stopped and spoken to about the history of the gauge and shown local trees and enlightened about their local properties.

The walk to the gorge is fairly flat, however good walking shoes are a must as its very uneven and slippery on places.

The surroundings and views are stunning

Not everyone's cup of tea but lovely to get out into the wilderness and experience history and culture of Cyprus in all its beauty.

A beautiful place with stunning views. Very little shade so go early and the bugs are massive up there so be warned. It was one of the only places we saw large flying bugs coming out of the trees.

One for those who enjoy historical sites. Well protected archeological site. Persevere round the site to find the underground necropolis.
Downfall was it’s not very well mapped out- no directions to the different tombs. It is a matter of tomb hunting and discovering for yourself.
Wear sensible shoes as the ground is very uneven and is not the accessible for those with mobility issues.

The Roman mosaics were outstanding! They have been discovered and then kept in very good condition. A must see if you are in Paphos.

I saw the "lone elephant" ( another reviewers description although accurate) and then spoke to the keeper and found out the full story behind the elephant, who is a rescue , and did have another elephant until he sadly died. The elephant is actually one of the best looked after animals in the zoo if you stop and take the time to talk to the handler and keeper. They are also trying to bring in a new friend but covid stopped it. Her section is also beautifully clean and has a inside cool water tank for her to drink from.

All zoos have some cramped cages and this zoo is no different. They are rebranding what was once a bird park ( with an amazing show) into a zoo slowly but doing it well.

It is beautiful clean, no litter, no poop in enclosures and although I'd like to see the birds with more space to swoop and perhaps the duck island with less space - it is a nice zoo.

This was part of a jeep safari trip we had booked prior to our trip to Cyprus.

We were taken to Lara Bay and headed down to the beach.

Crystal clear waters and a stunning view greeted us.

We ventured along and had the privilege of watching the team open up some turtle nests.

They hatch in August and venture to the sea at night.

We were lucky enough to see some straglers left behind and taken to the sea.

Just ab amazing experience to see new life head out on its journey into the world

Perfect timing and an experience I will never forget.

The sand was warm and golden between your toes and such a well preserved beach.

Very hot in August and little shade.

The walk down was beautiful, the steps up are steep but it's worth it especially to see how looked after the turtles are and all the hard work and effort the conservation team put in.
The gentleman we spoke to said he's been doing the job as a volunteer for 40 years

    Just wonderful
    Well done all and Thank-you

Church was closed when we went this year but the site is lovely, peaceful and calm. Worth looking up for an hour of peace and quite and so interesting looking at the old construction. Christmas 2019 we went to the Christmas Eve service - it is an Anglican Church so, Christmas Carols were in English and afterwards we went back to the vicar's house for mince pies :)

Nice place to spend 1-2 hours there. It's a medium sized mall with some clothing shops, but they are mainly general international brands that you can find anywhere, like Accessories, Bershka, Zara, Under Armour, etc.
But there's a big grocery store with good variety of products, and a "home things shop", where you can find some essentials for the beach or for home.
You can also get a sim card in the mall.

We visited the sea caves as part of another excursion
This was our second stop of the day after visiting the banana plantations up on the hill prior to walking down to the seacaves and the shipwreck.

Crystal clear blue water and amazing views greeted us on our descent down and perfect selfie opportunities

A great start to a great day

Very small, not much to see apart from some art created from rubbish collected on the beaches. Information boards available in English. Doesn't take very long to get round. Good views from the top however you can't get all the way round as part of it is roped off.
