- Nicoleta R49 contributionsThe views are unreal. Being so high you can admire the black beach in its entirety. Be sure you’ll have warm and waterproof clothes and shoes. It’s pretty windy up there.Written December 10, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Karim MaaroufCairo, Egypt957 contributionsThis is a very impressive thing to experience. You can walk up to the glacier up to a certain point without safety gear. However to really experience it, I would definitely recommend a tour on the glacier. There are a few companies offering it. You get the necessary safety equipment and a guide who explains hoe the glacier is formed and other interesting information. Most importantly, you can walk directly on the ice of the glacier and enjoy the view from the top. You shouldn't miss the chance to do so.Written November 14, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- jjlukeCalgary, Canada2,047 contributionsGreat glacier for a visit, a short hike to get there and plenty of sights to keep your attention. Many tour groups go by here too. Quick tips: The walk is about 15 minutes there to the viewing point. Fairly traversed pathway, paved parking and nothing complicated that requires hiking poles or anything. There was a food truck at the base when we visited. - Aled D1 contributionJohann was an incredible guide for our family, including two boys aged 6 and 8. Everything we explored was the perfect level of adventure and included some amazing sights we could never have experienced without him and his local knowledge. Without a shadow of a doubt, the highlight of our entire Icelandic holiday.Written May 30, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
