- NatJono2 contributionsWe went out whale watching with the team and weren’t disappointed! We saw three humpback whales and dolphins. I shed a tear or two! Staff were wonderful, knowledgeable and friendly. Boat was clean and comfortable and allowed you to view from different areas and inside too. Can’t recommend enough! Fantastic day out.Written May 13, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- VM1Edinburgh, UK6 contributionsWe saw hump back whales and dolphins and had the most amazing trip and our guide Eline and captain Gunni were both fabulous taking us to the right places. He made sure we had a fun ride back in too!
It costs quite a lot but it’s a small boat so you get the best views and can go out quickly and move to the right places.
Would highly recommend.Written April 10, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The crisp sea air refreshing your soul, with the added bonus of seeing some magnificent beautiful whales! ☺️
The yacht was great with a fabulous informative captain, the drinks in the bar were also very reasonably priced.
Great memories made on a trip we will never forget!

Mostly cod but a few pollock as well. Man these fish put up a fight! Iga and Etienne were so nice and knowledgeable. I did not expect such a badass female deckhand such as Iga - have a beer and listen to her stories at sea and from around the world. What’s even more badass is not only did she show us how to fish, she gutted and cooked the fish after!
My wife and I caught easily a dozen or so fish and the best part was getting to eat what we caught at the end! Iga had some delicious sauces and potatoes to go along with the perfectly cooked fish. We were a bit worried when there was no one called "Happy Tours" (we booked through "Guide to Iceland") but by asking around at the dock, we found the Elding booth and got directed to our boat, the Saga. We had the full 15 people on board, and it was a lovely sunny day with very little wind.
We saw only a single puffin flying by, so I'm glad we weren't expecting more in that category.
We stopped at one location where I caught the only two fish (pollack) and then we moved to another spot. Immediately, every single person had a fish on the line. It was incredible! We fished for what felt like 2 hours in this location alone, catching a ton and keeping until we had enough to eat.
The gear was fine, some of the reels were what my fishing pro partner would call "crunchy" but the thing that made it exceptional was the staff, especially Oscar. He did all the dirty work of taking the fish off the line and moved so quickly that we were back in the water mere moments later. It was the perfect balance of physical exertion / ownership over your catch but also not actually needing any technical skill. He did say that the ~200 fish our group caught that day was very unusual - we had multiple times where more than one person caught two fish on the line as they were reeling it in!
Lunch on the way back, grilled fish and potato salad, was delicious, and we even got to keep some fish to bring back to our apartment to cook later (we just had to tell them in advance how much we wanted).
Highly recommend, for even casual fishers!Written August 18, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. A river full with silver salmon, guides with great knowledge of the local specifics, and a lodge with delicious food and good company. Salmon fishing is considered to be a sort of Russian roulette, however with fishing the West Ranga in the right period the odds are certainly in favor of the fisherman.Written October 10, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - TrampleChicagoland, IL57 contributionsWow!
We’ve traveled all over, and have never had a tour leader like Pétur.
We used Icelandic Elements for 2 separate tours, Golden Circle and South Coast.
Each day had great variety.
He was very observant with our group of 5 and worked to make sure we were all comfortable and saw what was important to us.
He gave us recommendations during the day for our safety, and also excellent recommendations for places for dinner.
His English is perfect and his knowledge of everything Icelandic is outstanding.
He was aware of the need for safety as well as adventure.
Great flexibility amidst changing weather and road conditions. Very patient at each stop so we could spend all the time needed. Never felt rushed.
Volunteered to take lots of pics so we could stay in the moment and experience this magical place not only through a camera lens.
Cannot recommend him enough.Written January 21, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. I was fortunate enough to have two trips to Iceland this year and both spent with Gummi, Eiki and Gardar. I have fished with these guys since I first went to Iceland 7 years ago, in that time I have been back a total of 8 times ( would have been more, but for Covid). during this time I have become good friends with the 3 of them, which just makes each trip better and better. ive had offers from other guides, but never changed who i fish with, quite simply Gummi and his team are the best!!Written December 15, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Luis Pedro AlonsoGuatemala City, Guatemala1 contributionI went on a 10 day trip to the south coast of Iceland with my family and we hired Iceland Moments as our private an personal guide. The trip was AMAZING! I loved every activity our guide had prepared for us.
Andri, our tour guide, had many activities prepared for us on a daily basis. And even when the weather was bad, he always had a plan B, C or D to make sure we had a great time, even with heavy rain and windy storms. Andri was very dedicated and attentive to detail, also very knowledgeable about Iceland sites and history. We really had a great time, and would definitely recommend booking your trip through Iceland Moments.Written April 15, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
