This is a very interesting museum. They have 2 floors of exhibits. The information at each exhibit is in multiple languages including English. You can spend an entire day there if you read everything. The is a lot of information shared on the life stile of the Icelandic people over centuries. Very worth your time to go here.

The exhibition is multimedia which made learning about the area history visually diverse. We wished we had allowed more than an hour and a half to visit, as the museum is larger than we expected and there is so much to see.

Great 18th and 19th restored and reproduced village. Gives a great taste of life 200 years ago in Iceland. Tour guides were great. They were very informed and educational.

The sagas are interesting and this museum brings you the history in about 30 minutes.
The audio guide works great and the exhibition feels authentic.

We enjoyed a photo expo on the subject of 100 years ago, 1918, and the important events in town. Spanish flu and the end of WWI. Plus an explanation of the turf houses in town. Good space.

It is the oldest and best preserved house in Reykjavik. Small museum. They had a display of old photographs of Iceland and Icelandic people.
For me it was quite interesting. Very nice and friendly staff.
