Designed by LPR Architects following an architectural competition, the building is externally understated and is part of an urban complex with the new Municipal Central Library and Contemporary Art Museum.
The building is home to Sibelius Academy and two symphony orchestras, the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra and the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra.

Really good performance, well organised drinks and food at intermission - a thoroughly enjoyable evening out in Helsinki, well worth the visit if there is something good on while you are visiting!
It is a beautifully designed venue, both inside and out, with well organised hospitality and service and of course an amazing auditorium hosting many many high quality concerts.

Olavinlinna Castle is fantastic in its own right but as a location for staging an opera, it is awesome with its open plan stage backed by the castle’s courtyard walls.
The setting is magical - you walk over a drawbridge onto an island castle built in the ?15th century as the last bastion of Sweden's then protection.
The Tampere Hall has interesting architecture, big and comfortable concert halls and it is also hosting an excellent Moomin Museum.
We were there for Moomin Museum, but there was also ah exhibition of Andy Warhal and a live concert in the garden, so nice to spend some free time

The museum also houses an impressive collection of musical instruments and its current exhibition was celebrating the international success of Finnish conductors.
The museum building itself with its stunning Chambre Music Hall is also worth to see.
It a "small" concert area with a great sound and very nice atmosphere.
View from balcony or floor and at the best right off the stage.
The terrace behind the theatre on a sunny day is a very good choice.

Storyville

Helsinki
The band we saw, Charlota Kerus And Her New Orleans Rythmn Gang, was without doubt one of the best acts I/we have ever seen.
Storyville continues year after year to keep its reputation as one of worlds best Live Jazz Music Clubs.
Very architecturally pleasing to me, this old building is the National Theatre in the main part of Helsinki.
Not far from the railway station in the square nearby is this photogenic theatre building.
The theatre was sold out and the musical was excellent, excellent performers, singers, dancers, lay out, roling.
Kinky Boots musical was sensationally good and entertaining.
If you want to sit in comfortable old small theatre looking a classical presentation or even modern show, this is good choice.
Nice cafe where to enjoy refreshment when you are in Theatre.
A very beatiful, old theatre which used to be the National Opera but is now back in use as a theatre.
My most frequently visited theater by far due to the beautiful building which is in need of upgrade.
