- betteskidBoston, MA1,327 contributionsWe stopped here on our way from Stockholm to Oslo to see the rune stone. This is a small area that used to be a Viking settlement. There are a number of stones in place and the area is very pretty. It would also be a great place to let kids out of the car and run around a bit. The history is interesting as well. If you are in the area, this is a worthwhile stop.Written August 28, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Victoria_SammLondon, UK53 contributionsCome here as part of a group of 30. We got an exclusive look inside one of their old huts that are normally not open for public, and had a very knowledgeable guide. Fantastic to see the decorations on the walls and ceiling, as well as a very clever sofa with a backrest you could move so the seating changed from one side to another.
The animals around the area looked happy, but most fun was the really good-looking cockerel who had such issues keeping all his hens under control!
The bakery offered a very tasty cinnamon bun - well deserved after all the walking around the grounds.Written July 14, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The price is reasonable for the pool and slopes - not so much for the extras.Written August 22, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Sara MKansas City, MO16 contributionsBeautifully preserved medieval church with countless pieces of art and history on every wall and tucked in every corner. Make sure to look in the treasury in the northwest corner (left side after you enter) for amazing artifacts and to learn about this church's place in the history of the Reformation in Sweden. Staff are very friendly and extremely knowledgeable.
Check the website to find out which days they offer "Night Church" where the cathedral stays open well into the night with music and tour guides.Written March 24, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. You can also get some good mocktails to go with it. And to top it all there is homemade ice cream with good coffee for a tasty "fika" ;). OH RIGHT! The personals are really friendly and pleasant :).
The view is really good and the place is accessible by boat or car, the collection of boats is ok, am sure that enthusiasts would enjoy it and that kids would really love the whole pirate ship thing and shooting arrows and stuff.
Overall I would really recommend it for families, groups of friends or couples for a sunny lunch/ afternoon fika in västeråsWritten July 21, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The castle is a stately home exhibiting the 18th century decor with many portraits of its inhabitants, many with military titles. Lunch was excellent- simple choice of salads. Church is decorated with faded frescoes.Written July 20, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Erik HVästerås, Sweden4 contributionsYou will see the entire city with the most important landmarks. - JayyBeCanton of Zurich, Switzerland62 contributionsVery fine museum of Väastmanlands history, starting with the retreat of the last Ice Age to recent times. Excellent coverage + simple explanations of stone- bronze- and iron-age life including quite detailed explanations about iron mining and smelting - things we take for granted that once demanded back-breaking work but also highly skilled artisans painstakingly increasing their knowledge of chemistry, physics, and metallurgy. Very child-friendly for all levels, lots of ‘touchy-feely‘ exhibits for all ages, A bit of a hidden ge3m, highly recommended window into the region‘s + Sweden‘s past.Written August 19, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Good prices, food, and lots of jets! you can sit in some cockpits. Its a pretty big hanger. I think they have about 20 aircraft on display and a lot of models.Written April 25, 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Librery atatched to the garde allows you to stop and feel atmosphere of the old city. Nice caffe place in a librery as well. You can have a exellent coffe, sandwich or something sweet like a traditional swedish goodies. We like it.Written October 3, 2013This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Helen CKingston-upon-Hull, UK832 contributionsI believe this to the be general area in Vastras that includes some of the older buildings of the town. It is nice to see the cobbled streets, and the shops. Lovely to walk around and take in the atmosphere.Written July 29, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
