Flygvapenmuseum, airforcemuseum, Linköping is one of the more interesting places to visit in Linköping. It's located a few kilometres outside of town, however it is served by city bus 6, from the centre of town, which runs every 10 to 15 minutes during the day. The connection between the airforce and Linköping is Saab aerospace who is headquartered here and has It's airplane testing facility here. The museum is also next to the airbase in Linköping. Apart from displaying aircraft through times which is interesting in itself, the museum has several parallel exhibitions. Currently there are two main exhibitions which is Sweden and the Cold War and one on Secret documents which links to the Catalina affair. In addition there is also displays on how the people lived during the different decade's in the airforce history. They have both indoor and outdoor spaces for children as well as interactive learning. There is a nice museum shop and a good restaurant. Overall a nice museum, worth spending an hour or so on.

My wife and I saw the fountain while traveling on a bus the day before. What an amazing park - fountain, lake, ducks, walking paths-and more. Two play areas for children with an large array of equipment for them to play and investigate. There are volleyball courts, fruit trees and a cafe. We had a lovely time sitting by the fountain reading our books. That is another thing, there are so many seats spread around for you to enjoy the atmosphere

Fenomenmagasinet has something for all ages. Kids can interact with and learn from the different exhibitions here. Top floor has a little café, but the best thing with the top floor is the reptiles. This place is well worth a visit!

The Linköping castle- and cathedral museum is inhabited in the old Linköping castle next to the cathedral. This gives it the right atmosphere. However, in this part of the year it is only open four days a week, from Wednesday to Saturday, and opens at noon and closes already at 4 pm.
Linköping Castle started up as a home for the bishop as early as in the 1300-centuary. After the renovation it became one of the kings many castles he mowed between and consumed all the food that had been accumulated during the year in form of tax. Nowadays it is the residence of the governor of Östergötland.
This location gives really the right medieval feeling. This is especial true in the Wasa-room with a tableau with the king Gustav Vasa and the bishop Bengt Brask. This is quite nice. You also get an insight in the menu of a medieval bishop. He did not risk starve even during the fasting before eastern.
Another high point in the museum is the very large model of the castle in the banquet room. It is impressing and give you a very detailed picture of the castle as a royal sight. They have overall a good ambition to illustrate by using models, tableaus and other stuff. The museum shop has also a very rich, perhaps over rich, possibility to buy souvenirs and a lot of other stuff.

Busfabriken does really offer a place where both young and almost teenage kids enjoy themselves. 2,5 - 3 hours are just enough for the family. There is a large fitness centre nearby , but otherwise nothing to see or do in the area. It is a bit boring for parents to wait while their kids enjoy the day. However, the restaurant in Busfabriken offer a nice sitting area, where you can sit without being obliged to purchase anything. Prices in the restaurant are reasonable, and many family have their Fast-Food lunch there. Avoid Saturdays if you can. The place can be crowded and it's far too loud (especially for parents).

Due Covid 19 the guided tours were limited so we choose to take one in English. Turned out the other couple also were swedes so the guide choose to give the tour in Swedish. She was funny and informative. My kind of humour.
Liked the rooms with furniture most. Gives another dimension to it
Recommend this to all castle lovers out there.

We went to Linköping for our wedding anniversary. This place was worth visiting. It has a clever cross design. The staff were very friendly. We also stayed over for the short midday prayer.

There are more than enough playing equipment for toddlers and bigger children, small animals and bring-your-own barbecue facility.
Access by common transportation can be tricky, but there is a good parking space.

This is a typical small congress arena where they also host different kinds of concerts. It is a bit dated but works fine, at least for the event I attended.

Lovely museum. I wish there had been a little bit more in English. Not their fault, but ours for not knowing Swedish! The IT/computer exhibit was great.
