This fantastic opera house was inaugurated in 1898. It stands in the same place as Stockholm's first large opera house from 1782 did. A lot of inspiration was taken from the Paris Opera, the new opera got an exterior in Neo-Renaissance style, while the staircase, the foyer and the salon got a Neo-Baroque design.Even if the environment is breathtaking, the performing arts long for a more modern environment to develop the art form. However, politicians are sitting on the money and things are moving slowly here. To be able to take care of the opera house in the best way, you need to draw up long-term plans for maintenance and restoration.
Even so, great art is performed here from amazing singers, musicians and dancers. You usually find tickets at surprisingly attractive prices.

I noted this attraction while travelling via Tram #7 from Central Station to the Djurgarden Island. The exteriors are so Dramatic, There are several statues painted in gold and beautiful flowery motiffs on the upper areas of the building.

I plan to stop by here after my visit of the Djurgarden Island to see it more closely and to know if tours inside are available to visitors.

I truly enjoyed the musical - wonderful music with great Swedish artists. This beautiful theatre is private owned and is built in 1906. The theatre is named after King Oscar II.

Lovely experience, a lot of history that I found very interesting.
The staff were very helpful and friendly.
I recommend this place for people that are interested in Royal Swedish Academy of Music.

My family and I spent a spectacular time at Grona Lund. The park consists of two different areas that accommodates different age groups. We had fun and returned for another day. Try to go on weekdays if you can as the queues are significantly shorter.

Watched Tolvskillningsoperan from Bertold Brecht, it was so amazing! The building is lovely, but the renovation, especially the new chairs is kind of needed. The visit was worth the money! :)

World class artists, lit by candles, magic of theatre is there. In an era of virtual reality and better than life animations it is nice to see the old thunder maschine, the tilting floor and stenography. Tickets don’t come cheap to performances, the seasons are short and visited by opera lovers all over the planet. Take a visited trip and see all the original maschinery, still run by manpower. No electricity here! Magic, inspiring!

Legroom is acceptable. Ventilation is good. View is ok from all rows. Easy to access with wheelchair. Takes a long time to get out after the show. Quite good to get a taxi outside after the show.

Spaghettioperan Regina is a VERY different theater and/or restaurant. In a converted cinema, you eat pasta listening to very ambitious 'operatic' singing. You are surrounded by the show, and also waited by the singers. The acting is amateurish, the classical singing at times very good. Nothing wrong with the pasta 'bolognese', either; good Italian meat balls.

As a blues harmonica player, I checked out venues in Stockholm that hosted jazz and blues events. I came across this place, and I saw that it did a blues jam for 2pm to 7pm on a Saturday afternoon, so I went down with my harmonicas and ended up playing a couple of songs. The hosts were so welcoming, and we got talking to some 'metalheads' who were delightful and very easy to talk to. A lot of blues nights in UK could learn a lot from this venue.
