Such a good museum on so many levels. A tribute to the craftsmanship in building the ship, to the people who raised it to the surface, and those who painstakingly refurbished it. Brought to life by the detailed insights into the Sweden of that time, the sailors and the local inhabitants . Spent three hours in this fascinating museum

One of the best attractions we visited in Stockholm. It covers quite a large area, there is a lot of Swedish heritage and cultural artefacts to see and experience. It creates somewhat immersive experience with a lot of historical details and touches.

The zoo area was quite enjoyable as well, although it wouldn't usually be my sort of thing, but not this time - it felt almost like seeing the animals in their natural habitat rather than a zoo.

The most amazing touch was the picnic area where you could even do your own BBQ or buy freshly prepared traditional Swedish dishes.

A must-see destination for any ABBA fan. Lots of lovely nostalgic artefacts, great story telling behind the exposition, so much to see and to try interactively, too. A highlight of Stockholm exploration, for sure.

Stunning Palace. Loads to see and a do, staff friendly polite and so much bigger than we expected. The only downside is it was ALOT of stairs up and down and more the people blocking stairways and now real clear route direction. I think the experience would benefit from an organised way to wall around the exhibit as it felt a bit chaotic

It's over ten years since our first visit to Fotografiska. The views from the third floor resto are much the same each time: impressive! The exhibitions vary of course. On our latest round we admired photos by Kary Lasch from the 1950s, Cindy Sherman's very heavy tapestries, a Danish doctor in a floating world of bizarre bodies and a young Swedish innovator. There was a small exhibition about the history of selfies too. All in all, well worth a couple of hours.

People told us that the Viking exhibition at the Historic Museum was better than the Viking Museum so we checked it out and it was pretty neat to see all they had. We spent about an hour and half and probably needed another hour there. If you have time, include it in your itinerary. The rest of the museum especially the Gold room looked amazing.

Visited here for my 30th birthday it’s an amazing place, one of my bucket list items ticked off. Souvenirs aren’t that badly priced, lots of interactive things to do and a great afternoon out.

It was one of the most beautiful museums in Stockholm! Even though it is rather small, it was very well preserved and cozy!

We walked over to the museum from Gamla Stan on a freezing cold day and were very pleased to enter this warm, cosy and colourful museum.

We began our visit at the cafe (which has great views), and enjoyed a well priced and deliciously warming lentil goulash soup with bread and salad. The staff were very friendly and there were stacks of art books available for visitors to peruse making the place feel very homey and welcoming.

The Moderna Museet gives a great introduction to Swedish modern art for people like me who have not seen a lot of it. There are also many international artists and a variety of styles represented. The hands on origami table near the exit was enjoyed by children and adults alike.

My favourite pieces were the vibrant and playful sculptures out front by French artists Jean Tinguely and Niki de Saint Phalle, who were also responsible for the Kandinsky Fountain Centre Pompidou in Paris.

Great little free museum (or a few dollars for the audio guide), with lots of interesting artefacts and information about the medieval times in the region. Even a few things for little ones to climb on! (The signs specifically say that kids are welcome to climb on the serpent and dragon).

Livrustkammaren is a progressive museum, even though it deals with old armour and weapons, active on social media (fun) and many new exhibitions. We went on a guided tour, both in terms of the Livrustkammaren, but also one about Gustav III and his interest in theatre. Interesting even if the guide was a bit "superior" in his way of telling.

Since 1948, Prins Eugen's Waldemarsudde has been an art museum that displays Eugen's own art, his art collection and several temporary exhibitions every year. After Prince Eugen's death, he bequeathed the property and the art collection to the Swedish people. It still feels like a visit to a bourgeois home filled with beautiful works of art, not forgetting beautiful flower arrangements

Well worth the visit. Start at the top and work down. Beautifully presented. Not as large as you’d think; but, like Swedish restaurant menus, it’s all about quality over quantity. Some gorgeous masterpieces by Rembrandt, Rubens, etc. However, for Nordic art, this is the place to go. A very decent cafe too.
