- Frog-AusBox Hill, Australia342 contributionsIt was first the site of a brick factory then a tip and is now a park with a hill from where you have wonderful views around the cityWritten February 23, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- timsW8751NFMelbourne, Australia4 contributionsIf you like to shake things up then Tim Ellis and the Laneway theatre is the place for you. It’s full of surprises. From the anonymous wooden Laneway door to walking through the coffin and finally into the intimate theatre. And this is before the show has even started!
Tim is a first class showman. An amazing magician full of great tricks. The tricks just flowed seamlessly and became progressively more impressive.
Don’t miss out on this treasure of melbourne.Written May 15, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - MrDavetheSarksMelbourne, Australia20,220 contributionsProbably only on a nice day (as opposed to a wet day). Good facilities, and play equipment. Lovely gardens as well. Great for a picnic.Written July 27, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Jeffry bEssendon, Australia10,373 contributionsReclamation over recent years has restored the Merri Creek wetlands to what they were a century ago. The Merri Trail proceeds from Dights Falls to near where the Merri Creek and the Yarra River meet, a distance of 21 kms (13 miles). It's a managable day's walk. You can expect to see plentiful native birdlife. Merri Creek is rich in archaeological sites and indigenous artifacts are common. By the way, up until recently Merri Creek black clay formed the base of most quality cricket pitches in Victoria, including the Melboune Cricket Ground (MCG). Merri Park is well looked-after inner city park, with the Merri Creek runnning through it. Children can enjoy the playground while the adults tend the BBQ.Written June 5, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- EndlessTravelsGreater Melbourne, Australia35,310 contributionsHave been to a few kids birthdays here over the years. Lovely interesting design. Parking is a bugger sometimes.Written January 17, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- TwoSheds57Melbourne, Australia7,915 contributionsDingy and aged shopping centre. Bizarrely laid out in parts especially where it connected to Northcote "Central". There's a range of good shops here. You'll see community in all its colour including numerous odd looking characters. For all it's manifest faults, Northcote Plaza is much loved by locals.Written July 16, 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Henny RenjoMelbourne, Australia169 contributionsProfessionally presented work by talented and nurtured artists of differing abilities is shown and sold downstairs. The artist's studios are upstairs. Exhibitions change every couple of months so it's always worth a visit.Written March 4, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- EndlessTravelsGreater Melbourne, Australia35,310 contributionsLocated a quick walk north of Dennis Railway Station is this fantastic reserve that has all you need for a picnic or bbqWritten December 26, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- The Wandering ReviewerMelbourne, Australia9,601 contributionsTwo large wooden structures plus see-saw, stand-on spinner, horizontal bars, swings, springer and large sandpit with mechanical scoop. The larger structure has one section with a wave slide, climbing wall and rope bridge and the other section with dual wave slides, curved ladder and fireman's pole with joining elements comprising spiders web rope climbing frame, hanging disks and monkey bars. The problem with this structure is that it requires decent climbing skills to reach any of the slides. The smaller structure has a curved slide, walkway, steps, climbing wall, tic-tac-toe, speak and listen, clock, monkey bars, tunnel, fireman's pole, shop front and spiral ladder.
The playground receives some shade from the surrounding trees. Plenty of shaded tables and seats. There is a nice landscaped area in the park representing a dry creek bed. Large grassy area but next to road without fence. Water tap.Written March 29, 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - EndlessTravelsGreater Melbourne, Australia35,310 contributionsNamed after long time Victorian and Australian Captain Bill Lawry who started out playing district cricket for Northcote. - platypus150Melbourne, Australia24,612 contributionsThere are vast well grassed playing fields here, plus a swimming centre, tennis courts and some shady seating. - naw_7melbourne12 contributionsLiving round the corner in Alphington, we have been going to palace Westgarth every six weeks or so for about 10 years. We have seen current release ‘block busters’, film festivals (the Scandinavian festival is very welcome), quirky films and re releases of older films. The online booking system works, the staff are knowledgeable and attentive, the seats are comfortable, the projectors are good and the sound is just fine. In other words a very good cinema. Even though we have recently moved 40km away, palace Westgarth is still our cinema of choice.
Some standout movies over the years have been
- Nebraska, seeing a black and white film at a deco cinema just works
- Rams, an excellent Icelandic drama in a small Melbourne cinema was a good combinationWritten February 9, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Anthony BHong Kong, China11 contributionsLive music & good food make for a chilled out experience. The place was built in 1856 but has been done up nicely. The crowd is very laid back, as was the live music.

- NellyC76Greater Bendigo, Australia529 contributionsA great find in the heart of Northcote. Busy on a Saturday night but still comfortable. Great list of cocktails. They don't serve food but are happy for you to bring your own.Written October 7, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
