On the way home / to the apartment, after exploring the island, we stopped at this beach to take a rest and swim a bit. Clear watter. We arrived at 4pm and there were maybe ten visitors on it. Quiet beach for refreshment along the way, I wouldn't intentionally go swimming here ...

The turquoise water of the bay is on another level. Absolutely beautiful. You should definitely walk up to the little church, the view up there over the bay is breathtakingly beautiful. As the beach is small and there is also more infrastructure than on other beaches, due to the tavernas, it felt more crowded than other beaches, but also definitely worth visiting it for one beach day.

  • Beach is fantastic, very beautiful with crystal water and white sand. There are two beaches, one is with deep water and other with shallow.
Landscape is extraordinary looks like North Africa with kedros trees. Street is asphalt up to a point and after is dirty.
Writing as locals, we say our opinion for both sides. Beach is very beautiful in all sides. The beach bar that is on one beach is run by a family who liked to add services to the beach as it was isolated without sign if developnent.
It is completely everyone's opinion if they visit the bar or if they rent an umbrella from them. Someone can take his own umbrella, someone else can see the menu before order. In any way, we should not write bad not for the beach and not for a local business. It is completely up to our mind if we visit one bar or not.

We decided to hike the mountain at full moon in August - it was fantastic but the red dots were sometimes difficult to spot. It is not difficult to hike it up but you need to be fit as it more or less goes up vertical - I am from Tyrol and hike a lot, so you need strong legs - trip takes about 2 hours including some picture stops. View is amazing but the weather might be foggy or cloudy sometimes. In summer it is very windy, make sure to wear a wind jacket, bring enough water and a snack, camera and binoculars with you! Worth doing but in summer dont leave after 5 in the morning, it gets hot and the strong wind... might cause a bad headache or sun stroke. Wildlife can be seen and herbs can be collected if you are into tea ect. Wear good shoes and better long thin pans, some bushes are very painful. When doing a fullmoon hike up for the sunrise - you should have lamps with you (headlamps are the best) light from mobil phones are a good choice as well. Afterwards go for a mountain tea to the taverna which is next to the car parking - very nice location and great to relax after the hike.

In my opinion the best beach on Karpathos. Not very large but beautiful. There is only one little Restaurant and bar on the beach but you can have there a good lunch with good Greek salads.

Great place with friendly owner and staff. Honest food and great mojito prepared by the son of the owner. Co-owner Anna watches over all youngsters. We’ll be back, Takis!

We caught the bus here from Pigadia, €19.20 for 2 returns.
Stunning beach in beautiful bay. Very tranquil, with crystal clear waters. Sun loungers €10 for 2 with umbrella & bar service available. The sand was perfect, golden, soft but didn’t get everywhere.
The bay is surrounded by tavernas. All in all a great day out.

Pigadia beach is a very nice place to enjoy the sunshine and the sea. It's situated in the direct neighbourhood of the lovely town of Pigadia. The blue sea and the nice sand beach with it's taverna's are very inviting. Lovely place to be.

  • A sandy beach with sunbeds and parasols to rent, volleyball court and options to eat - drink (beach bar with delicious snacks and drinks, restaurant with good quality quantity Greek food). When it is calm it is a swimming pool, when it's wavy it's perfect game for wave lovers! This beach is perfect option as it isn't always full with crowds and visitors can enjoy, plus the fresh air, even in heat!
Close to Arkasa where there are options for eat very good food, normally priced and non touristic, with family care.

We took a boat trip for € 25 from Pigadia to Saria Island - very nice route along the east coast - at that day the sea was calm but in summer normally the sea is rough because of the Meltemi wind, so be prepared that the boat ride is rough! Sari Island is fantastic for snorkelling, diving into small caves, walking around and swimming - unfortunately there was not enough time to climb up to the beautiful Agia -next time for sure! It is a great days trip to spend on a boat, swim and see Karpathos as well as Sari Island from a different view! Meal costs € 10 and is a nice grill with salad ect.. Great trip for the amount of € 35 !

There are basic huts and camping in the olive groves. The facilities are nonexistent. Food from the owner is erratic. Beware, he is also erratic. Lovely place though! Peaceful and off the beaten track. Real Greece!

the church is a bit hidden in the village. From the waterfront, go up before Rahati restaurant. The entrance is at the side. Inside are lovely painted walls, nice cool church on a hot day.
