Hi. We will be in Naxos for 3 days at the end of June. We are a family of 5 and our 3 kids are teenagers. It's been challenging finding hotels that have rooms with three bed for the teens and so many of the places are booked up already. We are trying to decide between three hotels: Naxos Resort Beach Hotel, Astir of Naxos and Agios Prokopios Hotel. We think we want to be closer to town so the kids can wander around together if they want to but we're not sure if that's a big deal or even safe and Agios Prokopios looks nice. Any suggestions or ideas about these hotels? We are also looking for activities that the kids would enjoy. They are pretty easy going and are used to staying busy on vacation but would like some chill time. We will be coming off of a mainland tour. Thanks for your help.
Answer: Thank you for your kind words.
I am not aware of a winery but there is a Kitron distillery in Chalki.
Favourite taverna are good heart on the waterfront promenade, Taverna to Kastro high up outside the walls of teh Kastro ( our favourite) Nosomon Hellas greek with flair outside the tourist area but not far from fountain square. shirroco in fountain square And out at Plaka beach Petrino Naxian recipies and right on the beach Nicholas and Marias.
For activities rent a car and explore the island. The villages of Chalki and Aparanthos are great for walking around.
Images of both these villages are on the first page of this album taken in September 2017

And just wander and get lost in Naxos town. Look up at the walls in the alleys some of them still have gun ports.
