What travelers are saying
- trav226New York City, NY707 contributionsThis was the largest and least crowded beach we visited. Granted it was early Oct but I appreciated the uncongested feel unlike Anna and prokopios. Peppermint had the best deal on chairs vs nearby places and good food/service. Also very close to a market, bus tix kiosk and bus stop. Nearby establishments wanted 30 EU to rent beach chairs despite being EMPTY as in no customers. At Peppermint the chairs were free with food purchase. Very quiet and chill. Also you can walk from here to other beaches tho it’s a fairly long walk on the heat.Written October 11, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - TorontoLadybugToronto, Canada437 contributionsThis beach was a 10/10 for me. Beautiful beach with lots of beach bars to rent beds at reasonable prices. Plenty of restaurants and shops within steps. The water was gorgeous and clear and the beach was clean and safe. Great location!!Written October 1, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Lori MCalifornia1,992 contributionsmy favorite place to visit on Naxos... it's so convenient, easily accessible and free. low effort to see an ancient ruin. the bus from Agios Prokopios drops you right at the terminus station, which is adjacent to the ruin. got great pictures even though we didn't go during sunset. It was windy so that wasn't helpful but we still really enjoyed walking around the Portara. There was no signage there - so what - look it up on your phone!Written September 29, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - paninimomMill Valley, CA246 contributionsQuaint Port Town, has historic sites to visit, shops, and eateries. Lots of steps, inclines, winding narrow pathways. Beautiful to stroll through.Written October 13, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Dreamer35240781067Athens, Greece14 contributionsExcellent beach but when there is a breeze the air becomes tiring. A few trees at the back of the beach for shade, a tavern, a beach bar. Perhaps one of the most beautiful beaches on the island with white sand and emerald waters.Written August 18, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - CativaLong Beach, NY143 contributionsEasy compact beach with lots of restaurants. Try Palátia! Went twice for delicious fresh fish, home marinated white anchovies, awesome shrimp souvlaki, sardines, grilled fish and more! Served at tables on the sand or loungers by fabulous Orestes! Must visit!Written July 3, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- TBManchester, UK23 contributionsThe beach itself is beautiful. It’s very long, but doesn’t feel too crowded. Although we didn’t go to any there are plenty of bars/restaurants in the vicinity, as well as toilet and washing facilities.
Unfortunately, most of the beach is taken up by sun loungers, which were extortionately priced (at time of visit, 50€ a day for 2 beds and an umbrella). This is far more expensive than beaches on other islands. As such, we led on beach towels on the ground.Written July 8, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The women that run the store are amazing- super friendly and very inviting. They also offer tours of how olive oil was made back in the day as well as offer a variety of samples. I was really impressed that they did the tours in so many languages- other than English and Greek, I’m pretty sure I also heard them speak French and German. I’m not usually the biggest ice cream fan, but when my husband wanted to try the olive oil ice cream, I had to try a bite. And then another and another…. It was so good (not overly sweet, very well balanced) that when we were driving around the next day, I had to make another stop to get it. Well that and the delicious olive oil cake. They have great outdoor area to sit and enjoy all their offerings as well. Highly recommend!Written October 7, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Shrey MBengaluru, India28 contributionsFascinating and beautiful. Cedar trees (or shrubs rather, almost) amongst white sand dunes make up for a unique landscape in the area. As an added bonus, the beautiful Alyko beach is nearby, perfect for swimming or taking a nap under one of the trees. Only downside being all the cars around, they should prevent cars being parked right next to the beach and preserve this precious resource better.Written September 17, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jaime F1 contributionThe best beach ever. The clearest waters i have ever seen, loads of little fish (greyish colour) was a 1 minute walk from my accomodation and i spent all day everyday here. couldn't reccomend more. there is a small local shop 2 mins down the road from the beach however they massivly overcharged us everytime. The blue lagoon resturant is also a 2 min walk from the beach and they do amazing food, customer service was brilliant. amazing holiday destination and would 100% go back.Written October 8, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - eagertraveller123UK1,350 contributionsVery nice Venetian style castle, worth the climb (also a lovely set of churches of various denominations and little meandering streets and archways surround it).Written July 10, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Cathy H3 contributionsBeautiful Fish and Olive shops in Halki on the island of Naxos that embody the Greek connection with the sea through gorgeous art. Two fabulous stores full of wonderful pieces of pottery, jewellery and art work. Such a pleasure to meet the wonderful designers and chatted to Katharina and Alexander about their work.Written October 14, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
