What travelers are saying
- TomMytchett, UK2 contributionsThe beach itself is beautiful but the cost of the sunbeds was just a bit obscene. €50-€70 and if you want to sit where you can see the sea there’s an additional “minimum spend” of €50 euros from their menu. Attitude of the lady selling the beds was a little frosty too. The beach is beautiful (did get very busy) and for the price you’d expect a little bit of music or atmosphere. A lovely place to visit but the cost as described does leave a bit of a dampener on the experience.Written September 24, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - trav226New York City, NY719 contributionsThis beach has some of the clearest water and sandy, rock-free entrance in Mykonos. It’s large enough that there’s plenty of room to swim. However, other than a small section on one side it’s wall to wall restaurants/bars and their chairs so you’re on top of other people. If this doesn’t bother you you will love it.
Avoid the black umbrella establishment. Our concierge warned us about this rip off joint. They offer free umbrellas but charge insanely high food prices. Cheapest item on the menu was a 9euro bottle of water! All the other places charge 20 - 30 eu for 2 chairs and 1 umbrella (which sadly is normal in Mykonos) but at least their food is reasonably priced.
Avli on the beach is an excellent choice for lunch or dinner. Dont miss this beach at night it’s lit up like a Xmas tree!Written October 12, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. When booking online, be careful as the restaurants and beach chairs all look like one vendor but there are three. The furthest one is super dingy and looks cheap, also acknowledgeable through the sense of arrival. The best one of course is the namesake. There is Beach Club music playing though. Apparently on Fridays there is a woman that comes to sing covers - she's not good and unfortunately can be heard at two of the beach clubs.Written August 1, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Shaun C1 contributionReading some of the bad reviews here, it would seem that people did not manage their expectations. The beach is great if you know what to expect and if it's your thing.
The beach seems to be managed by two hotels: Paradise Beach Resort and Tropicana. Tropicana takes up the Eastern side and Paradise Beach Resort the Western side. Each hotel has several bars and restaurants and loads of beach chairs. Their is also a club/dancefloor at either end of the beach.
The beach is free to access and a 2 euro bus journey from Mykonos town. Although I stayed at Paradise Beach Resort. Paradise Beach Resort has accommodation for all budgets. On my first trip, when I was still young and backpacking, I stayed in a cheap beach cabin, which has hostel prices. On this trip, now that I'm older, I stayed in the Deluxe twin with seaview.
Tropicana is a more upscale hotel. Their bars and restaurants also tend to be slightly more expensive. However, anybody can access all the beach facilities, whether your a day tripper or a guest of the hotels.
You have to pay to use the beach chairs, but this is standard for all Mykonos beaches, and they can be pricey. During peak summer months it gets really overcrowded, but if you're young and love the beach party vibe, this is probably what you are looking for. I prefer to come either side of peak season, when there are enough people for a good atmosphere, but I can still find space to breathe.
The party vibe starts at about 16:00 and continues way into the early hours of the night. If you are staying locally, be prepared to literally have your bed rocked by the thumping bass.
The beach itself is made up of course sand, which for me is nice because it does not blow around in the wind and doesn't stick to your skin. The beach is covered in beach chairs, with only a few, tiny open spots if you don't want to use a beach chair. The water is a wonderful, clear turquoise. There are a few, isolated rocky bits to be mindful of once you are in the water, but again, this is standard for Mykonos.Written October 18, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Not crowded, lots of space, unfortunately some beer caps in the sand- wear some kind of shoes..
Lovely view. At least until the gigantic cruise ships arrive and stay for days.. Love this place.Written August 7, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Known for its immaculate beaches, clear waters, and relaxed vibe, this coastal treasure provides a break from the busy throng while maintaining the essence of a traditional Greek beach experience.
Kalo Livadi's shoreline is lined with a variety of upmarket beach clubs and tavernas for those looking for a little luxury. Savor delicious Mediterranean food, unique cocktail mixes, and luxurious lounges while admiring the Aegean Sea's stunning vistas. There are several things to do at Kalo Livadi, from a lively beach party to a peaceful brunch.
Beyond its culinary delights and breathtaking scenery, Kalo Livadi Beach provides lots of chances for exploration and adventure. Take a relaxing walk along the shoreline and take in the breathtaking natural beauty around you, or go on an exciting water sports adventure or discover secret coves along the coastline.
I highly recommend visiting and seeing for yourself.Written March 8, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - trav226New York City, NY719 contributionsTho it’s 25 mins by bus from the old port it’s well worth the trip. This was our fave beach on the island bc it’s quiet. Theres one area with chairs; the rest was empty. While a lot of the shore had rocky entry you can find sandy spots to go into the water at both ends of the beach.
One umbrella and 2 chairs was 30 eu, the norm on Mykonos for early Oct. and the restaurant served me the best baked eggplant I’ve ever had in or outside of Greece! It’s also right by the bus stop, has an outdoor shower and ATM. Close to perfect for people who want to get away from the busier beaches that are covered with chairs and restaurants end to end. So peaceful!! Stop at ano mera on the way to see the monastery.Written October 12, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. This beach was full of spoiled brats on their parent’s yachts blocking your view and beach. The staff was nice at Nammos, but were always bothering you. I felt you didn’t get to just relax because someone was always asking if you wanted something, adjusting your chair, wiping sand, etc. It was excessive. Food and drink was good, but very overpriced. In comparing Paradise Beach to Nammos you received about the same quality for 1/8 of the price. So if it’s important to you to sit with very indulged people who are rude just to get an Instagram pic, go to Nammos, otherwise you’ll have just as great of a time at any of the other beaches on the island.Written July 19, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - GrandTour590472Wolfsburg, Germany30 contributionsThis is a nice place for a short tour, the beach is incredible, water is cristal clear and there is not much people around (September). You can spend a nice day at the beach and then have dinner at the nearby restaurant which is also top.Written September 5, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jonathan J1 contributionOur favorite beach of the island! There are no restaurants and shops here, not even for drinking water so you must be prepared but it is definitely worth the natural beauty and the clear sea! If you travel at the low season is not so crowded and you can enjoy it more. Be careful on the path when you go there because is a bit steep.Written April 2, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
