This is a very well thought out and orgainzed museum. Came here after visiting Knossos ruins to view the arifacts that came from there. Reasonably priced and not over crowded. Littel cafe on site.

Visiting the Koules Fortress in Heraklion was an unforgettable experience! The fortress is incredibly well-preserved and offers a fascinating glimpse into the history of the region. As you walk through the thick stone walls, you can imagine what life must have been like for the Venetians who built it.
The views from the top are absolutely breathtaking, giving you a panoramic look at the harbor, the city, and the surrounding coastline. It’s a perfect spot for photography and enjoying the beautiful scenery.

Its a nice sandy beach, but there are big waves and water can be deep not far from the coast. Water is mostly clean, there is only seagrass. It's located not far from Heraklion city center, it's a 15 minutes drive by bus. There aren't many tourists, mostly locals visit this beach, which is nice. Sunset is beautiful to watch on this beach.

After visiting Knossos, we were looking for other things to do in the area, and saw all of the great reviews for this winery. We took a chance and stopped in without a reservation. We had a lovely tasting of 8 wines plus some tapas (cheeses, cucumber, tomatoes, herb pies, etc). It was wonderful to learn about this family winery run by sisters. They are an organic winery and all of the wines we tried were excellently made. The views were spectacular and hospitality was wonderful. We are so glad we stopped in, it was a highlight of our trip to Crete!

I love this fountain and it seems that it is built with Venetian architecture!
It is very beautiful to walk there but when I went there it was not working.
