We were advised to either visit early in the morning or late in the afternoon. We chose to go late in the afternoon and this proved to be a good choice as it was a bit quieter then. Do be warned the Acropolis is busy at all times. The views of the city are amazing and there is lots to see. However most of it is very rough underfoot so it is not very disabled friendly. There is a new concrete path around part of the site but it is quite steep in parts.

There is a lot in the museum and the place looks great. The key is that they have set up space for the future return of the Elgin Marbles.

Recommend getting there early because it’s very busy! It’s truly an unbelievable experience and it’s worth every minute waiting in line. To see such a magnificent structure up close is remarkable. Fantastic views of the coast and all of Athens.

Best Neighborhood in Athens for tourists to walk around and explore.

Lots of Restaurants/Cafes, Bars and shops to enjoy, streets are fairly narrow and tourist friendly with many older world heritage style buildings in the area.

I found area best at nighttime as the atmosphere is more casual and relaxed with people looking for restaurants or shopping.

Don’t miss the Acropolis Museum. Displays original statues, frieze, and art from the Acropolis hill that are unbelievable.

Great hike up the mountain. Easy to find, beautiful 360 view of Athens. You don’t need a guide, just a good pair of tennis shoes

Very impressive to visit but if you want to get up to the top the stairs are very steep with no handrails. Visiting the little museum was interesting as they have a torch from all the modern Olympic games. It was only spoilt for us because they didn't have any audio guides for us to use. Perhaps if they're busy they should limit the audio guides to one per group. I am aware you could use your phone but you would have to know in advance to bring ear phones.

Temple is incredibly well preserved located in the ancient Agora complex at top of the hill.

In the whole Acropolis complex maybe the best-preserved building to see, you can walk around whole temple and be within a few meters of it at all times. Detail to Temple is really good and I would put visiting Temple of Hephaestus on par with Parthenon.

A must do while in Athens.

Such a cool thing to do, just wandering around the ancient grounds of former marketplace is unbelievable. lots of different ruins to see and different levels of preservation, highlight is Temple of Hephaestus and the museum area.

Best to take your time and slowly walk through ancient ruins as so much to see, some areas that you can sit and relax, this is part 2 of the acropolis complex and its certainly worth a few hours to fully take in all ruins and artifacts.

I would put this in top 5 things to do in Athens.

Another amazing Temple to visit in the Acropolis complex, Erechtheion is located on the north side and is really good to see.

Mainly intact with 6 women statues on the wall that separates this temple from others.

Certainly, one of the top attractions to see in Athens and Acropolis complex.

Herod Atticus Theatre is an amazing site to see, detail is incredible and to think something like this built over 2000 years ago is mind blowing.

Was restored in the middle of last century so that it can be used today for events, would be a unique experience to watch a performance in the theater.

Located on the slopes of the Acropolis and must see while in the complex and Athens.

Lovely step back in time to wander through the tiny streets and see the old houses built in no particular fashion.

The exhibitions in this museum were really cool, unique and interesting. Our tour guide, Maria, was very enthusiastic and gave us an informative and interactive tour. We even got a free souvenir at the end!

Highly recommend, especially for those looking for something a bit off the beaten track in Athens. 5 stars!

The climb up the hill is challenging in spots with slippery rocks and gravel. The view of the Acropolis from the top of the hill is worth every step. Very peaceful and gear photo opportunities.

Great location for seeing the sites in Athens. Superb breakfast worth 15-20 euros for two persons. A great selection to accommodate most any appetite. Friendly staff. Metro line closeby (300m). Many good restaurants and I recommend Bandiera.
