We enjoyed the museum and the artifacts available to view and, in some cases, take photographs. Plan for an hour at a minimum.

This museum is full of historical artefacts it has a great collections of statues of gods and Greek heroes, weapons and vases. I am a huge fan of ancient Greek vases and this museum has a huge collection of original vases. There was also a small part of the museum about ancient Egypt which was very interesting. I would definitely recommend this museum for history lovers!

I visited here at the end of August 2022. It was only a 20 minute walk from my hotel in Plaka. This is a wonderful varied museum which includes ceramics, art, jewellery and costumes from different periods. The displays are mainly in chronological order and easy to follow. The museum is air conditioned and wasn’t busy when I was there so it was a very nice couple of hours away from the heat and the crowds.

We really enjoyed this museum in Athens, smaller and more focused than the well regarded National Museum. The antiquities on display were accompanied by informative explanations. As suggested, we began on the top floor and worked our way down. The museum was an easy walk from the Plaka.

One does not have to be a automobile-enthusiast to enjoy this excellent exhibition.

There are 3 floors with cars, some automobiles dating back to the late 1800s.
The collection is really amazing and there is so much information one can acquire by stopping at each and every car and reading about them. Some of the information signs have QR-codes to scan for even more information.

This museum is open so TripAdvisor is not correct when it says it’s closed. This was my favorite history aspect of our five days in Athens. The museum itself is amazing as the lighting and displays are perfect. The artwork / artifacts are incredible. Descriptions throughout the museum are well written and provide excellent details of the history during that time frame and the artifacts themselves. It is larger than you expect when you first approach and provides an excellent opportunity to escape the heat id looking for a 2 to 3 hours. I LOVED THIS MUSEUM!

Not so much a museum as a series of interactive illusions. Child friendly but it also means that you will have lots of children around you... being children!
Staff on hand were great and helped explain what to do and take fun pictures. Not extensive time wise and you are time limited anyway but it's just about right and we all enjoyed it.

Together with my son and a family friend I spent a few hours in the War Museum which I found very interesting as it covers all the various conflicts in which Greece has been involved from ancient times up to WWll. All exhibits are set out in chronological order, room by room, clearly labelled although some plaques were at low level and often difficult to read. For that minor distraction I still found it a very interesting few hours.
The outside xhibits were also very interesting.

The Central Market in Athens is a great memory jerker for those of a certain era. Plenty of fresh produce on show and on offer with Fishmongers, Butcheries, Green grocers all displaying their freshly cut, caught or picked goods for you to select and choose. Plenty of other stalls varying in virtually everything you can think of. Terrific atmosphere and something very different to see from the numerous archeological sites in this vast City. Well worth a visit, especially if you are of that certain era.

It seems wherever you go in this City of Athens History is with you all the way. The Museum of Ancient Agora is a smaller sort of snapshot compared to some of the Museums in the City. Even so, the reminders of how life must have been all those years ago is captured just right here. Plenty of information on the life that was led as well as many treasures found on or near the site. There are reconstructions of how folk developed as well and overall a good way to spend a couple of hours learning a thing or two, giving you time to reflect on how much lives have changed.

This is a modest-sized cathedral church, but with its restoration is very beautiful. Take a moment after walking in for your eyes to adjust to the low light level so that you can see all of the intricate but traditional designs in the church. Don't forget to light a candle!

Very interesting museum about ancient greek technology. The staff was very friendly and helpful, eager to answer questions and demonstrate how every technical exhibit used to work. Some exhibits are presented in an interactive manner, which is quite rare for a museum.
