- ChefAnnMt_Laurel_NJMount Laurel, NJ211 contributionsSuch a beautiful area to dine, shop and see nearby sights, within walking distance of the Acropolis, very easy access to MetroWritten May 27, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- DianaGermany47 contributionsThe experience once we were up the mountain was great. We stumbled upon the sunset by accident and it was lovely to see it from Mount Lycabettus. If you haven't climbed another hill that day (like we did Acropolis), go there by foot from the Evagelismos metro station. It's a steep hill and in the end there are a LOT LOT LOT of stairs. It may show like 500 meters or so on maps, and trust me, all of that is HILL. We should've taken a bus that day because by the time we got to the cable car, we already felt like we climbed the mountain. paying 10€ for the round trip of up and down seemed unnecessary. 7.5€ for one way which is a ridiculous price difference. I don't mind the unspectacular ride up. The cable car was in an okay condition.Written May 17, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Liisa K13 contributionsIt was nice and the paths mostly shadowed by the trees, good for even hot days. Requires good shoes as the terrain is uneven. Would recommend for a walk to relax a bit, there weren't a lot of people before noon. The area of the little church near the prison of Socrates had some friendly cats. They were a little shy but you can get close and even pet them if you are quiet and careful.Written May 24, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Maarten K2 contributionsWe went to this restaurant a second time for two reasons. First of all the atmosphere, service, food and drinks are great. Second, we had a table near to a fire place which made it feel nice and cozy. For all these reasons and more, highly recommended.Written May 4, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- DemothesisPortsmouth, UK234 contributionsMonastiraki really is tourist central and understandably so, as it is located within walking distance of almost all of the main Athen attractions. Actually a fairly attractive district, it does however suffer from ‘tourist’ prices which means you are going to pay high prices for food & drink. If you walk north just a few blocks, prices will decrease 1/3 for almost everything. Walk half a mile and then will decrease another 1/3.
Plenty (if not an over abundance) of tourist shops all selling the same tacky items.Written March 22, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - veronak133 contributionsAbsolutely beautiful!
If you’re not with a tour guide and are self-guided, pay close attention or you’ll miss this spot.
The view is absolutely beautiful. I was just in Aw to had been/seen where the Apostle Paul gave his speech.Written May 7, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - ModerationForMeCharleston, SC465 contributionsThis is a nice quiet area with some shade and a break from the bustling streets. It's even better that it's free. I was actually here on three separate occasions on the trip. The trails branch off frequently which is part of the fun. It's not large, but it is worth a visit.Written May 14, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- VadimMurmansk, Russia22,439 contributionsPsiri is a district in the form of a pentagon (Athens is not distinguished by strict geometry). The area is bounded from the south by the main shopping street Ermou, from the east by Athena Street, from the northwest by Euripides Street. Despite its venerable age, this area of Athens is famous not for antique buildings, but for entertainment establishments. In contrast to the tourist infrastructure, this area was previously positioned as a place of rest for local residents. There are many nice bars and restaurants from the Tripadviser list. For example, the long-term leader of the list is the Cinque Lune & DeliBar wine bar, which I visited on my last visit. However, judging by the appearance of establishments with flashy signs and garish design like Peter Pan and Little Kook, mass tourism destroys the atmosphere of this area. But there is still time...Written May 10, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.

- doofvfoodWorld2,869 contributionsVisited the central market as I love markets and there was a dazzling array of butcher stalls and fish mongers. Also a few cute little cafes in the market - shame we had had breakfast or it would have been good to try. We also saw the nuts and spices stalls on the outside of the market but didn't really see any fruit and veg though there were shops selling an assortment of cheese. The display units of the butcher shops were very impressive! We went there before 9 and there were still fish on sale. An interesting market to get a glimpse of local life.Written May 27, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- DemothesisPortsmouth, UK234 contributionsAs is traditional in many capital cities - this tomb is guarded 24 hours a day by the ceremonial guards. Changing of the guards happens at the top of every hour and is free to view. Recommended.Written March 22, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- KPR1955Crewe, UK1,742 contributionsThis is what used to be an almost derelict industrial area but over the last few years has developed into a very pleasant area for an evening. Lots of coffee shops, bars, eateries and with a metro station on your doorstep.
If you’re feeling brave then you can take a meal on the elevated restaurant that hoists you many metres above technopolis.Written July 13, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - andyh67186334Coalville, UK5,754 contributionsI came across the Academy of Athens by accident, whilst looking for a museum. It is an impressive building in the neo-classical style. Unfortunately it was closed when I visited, as I am sure it is just as beautiful on the inside.Written February 5, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.

- B1714DBelgrade, Serbia12,777 contributionsAdrianou claims to be the oldest street in Athens dating back to BC era, running around the Acropolis base, connecting it with the Hadrian's library and ancient Agora.
It's nice to stroll it, preferably in the evening when the temp lowers.
As one my conclude it's packed with souvenir shops and restaurants.Written September 26, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
