Make sure to mention if you're a student it significantly reduces ticket prices. It was just excellent, lots of interesting pieces in this museum from armour to guns to weapons from the medieval times. Personally, I would have liked clearer signs telling you what era and period of time you are in as well as more information about the guns. They had Greek and English translations, but it just lacked a bit when it came to the English. But it was excellent to see everything there. I would highly recommend it if you like weapons or vehicles from different war periods.

Pretty building to pass by in lovely grounds.
We passed it on the way to the outdoor arena.
The roads around are quite busy so care is needed

Put aside the history and enjoy the entertainment. A great way to spend the evening with friends, eating, drinking.

My First visit at the onassis cultural center was for a movie night. The movie hall was extraordinary , so good in acoustics. We enjoyed a greek movie. The entrance hall is also impressive, has a modern design minimal chic. There is also a bar on the ground level. A good idea for a before show drink. Until next time...

The Metroon, built around 140 BC, was a multi-purpose building, accommodating two seemingly unrelated functions.
It was on one hand, the sanctuary of Meter, Mother of the Gods, and on the other hand, it was also the state archives where official records including decrees, law codes, financial records and legal documents were kept.
Whilst this half religion / half administrative function struck me as an odd combination, it fact it made perfect sense in ancient Athens because the goddess protected the documents.
Like most of the ruins at the Ancient Agora, there is very little left of the Metroon. However this is a little more substantial than some of the structures. We could still see the massive stone blocks that made up the foundation walls and we could clearly see the outline where the building once stood.
The Metroon is located below the Temple of Hephaestus and alongside the Tholos and the Bouleterion. This cluster of buildings makes this an interesting area to explore.
An information board has a picture of the building as it looked in ancient Athens, some diagrams and some brief information in both English and Greek.
TICKET TIP: The combo ticket is very good value. It includes entry to both the Ancient Agora and the Acropolis as well as 5 other sites. At €30, it is well worth it (entry to the Agora on its own is €10 and the Acropolis is €20). It is worth noting that in winter, most sites are half price so the combo ticket is not such good value then.

For the visitors of Athens there are some "little and cozy" bookshops where they can get the feeling of the Greek book production and more. One of the friendliest is "Epikera" located in Agia Paraskevi. If you are close don't loose it! Katerina and the whole stuff will guide you to their beloved cultural place and answer plenty of your questions! George & Mary Siourtis

I booked the place for a small training meeting and it was a very good choice. The location is very good, close to all main highways and the rooms were spacious, well prepared and with excellent personal service.

Since my youth, when I worked as backup support in Panteion University Library, I have a lust for such institutions. Here I found innumerable volumes of wisdom, a greatly polite staff, always willing to provide advice or assistance, as well as the art of classifying complicated poetry, science books, travel memoirs, history accounts, strategy plans,or other interesting thematics & their ramifications, in a glorious vortex of showing clearly the proper way to the exact shelved position. A serene environment, ideal for peaceful thinking, belongs to the place's superlative merits. Especially ask for Mrs Helen's help, she will guide your route amid millions of highly valued pages with tact and result!

This is a hall for music and other performances. We had a great evening of music of Mikis Theodorakis .
In an old building , capacity of around 500 people.
    Good atmosphere and good acoustics.
