The Central Market in Athens is a nice place to visit for travelers. It gives a feel of the life of the locals.

I had the opportunity to explore it twice during my stay, and it left a good impression on me.

The market has two areas with stalls for different vendors of meat and seafood. The seafood section had a large array of species of large and small fishes, octopuses, etc., though visitors have to bear with damp floors and the smell of fish.

The market caters to the diverse needs of the people and includes sections dedicated to various provisions, household and food items.

One area that stood out to me was the section selling antiques. Rows of shops displayed a variety of antique items, some appearing truly historical while others seemed like items people had discarded from their homes old and dated. Although I didn't stay to inquire about prices, it was fascinating to see the assortment of antiques available. I believe that if you're someone who appreciates historical decor or is looking for unique pieces to add to your home, a visit to the Central Market is a must. You might just stumble upon the perfect decoration that tells its own story.

Whether you're a food lover searching for the finest ingredients or an antique enthusiast seeking hidden treasures, the Central Market in Athens is a must visit.

The BEST EVER! OMG, if you are in the market for leather shoes, purses, and duffle bags this is the place. I purchased two handbags and two pair of sandals (all genuine leather made in Greece) for 206 Euros (duty free). The customer service was excellent, no high pressure sales or gouging. Love it!!!😍

A Tourist Trap but worth walking through to buy souvenirs and other items to bring home. This is a walking flea market and Hadrian's Library, Ancient Agora and Temple of Hephaestus are all in this Square. Worth seeing. Right off Ermou Street. The attractions cost to enter and didn't seem worth it, you can easily just take pictures through the fences.

Not sure where this area/street starts and ends. In the old part of town full of shops selling everything a tourist is looking for. Some nice little bars and restaurants
