Obviously, if you're visiting Athens, the Acropolis is a must see! Be prepared for lots of crowds and lots of climbing! Well worth it, though! Probably worth paying extra for a guide - we didn't and we regretted it because there isn't much info provided about the history. Alternatively, visit the Acropolis Museum first so you'll have a better idea what you're looking at.

This is a top notch museum experience. Expertly designed and laid out to be comprehensive and enjoyable. The cafe is EXCELLENT, and the gift shop is also superb. You definitely get the feeling of incomparable history, even when they excavated for the building....more history to be preserved and put on display!

Visited on the 18th of May and there was some kind of a national holiday going on which meant anyone visiting could enter for free. This saved me €50 so i am passing this tip off to anyone planning on visiting around May

İt's an amazing beach with the pink sands although a difficult transport there. Maybe reaching it with a boat tour is better.

We took a trip to Lindos by bus from our hotel. Upon arrival you have to walk down a steep hill to get to the little village but the views across the bay and village are spectacular. Lovely white washed buildings and stone floor walkways lined with tiny shops and buildings and a lovely way to spend a few hours. We went to vanilla bar cafe and sat on the top roof terrace with a view of the acropolis and the bay and there are numerous bars cafe’s restaurants available. It’s a bit expensive but definitely worth a visit for the ambiance and views. Recommended good walking shoes or trainers for trek up to the acropolis as it’s very steep and there are numerous steps to get to the base of the site. It was fairly busy when we arrived @ 10.30 am and some tour groups crowded the walkways so would advise getting to Lindos early.

What an amazing place! This really is a must-see.
We drove from Thessaloniki and then took the 10 km road that goes around the area. At every turn, the views are incredible.
Lots of tour buses filling the narrow road so you need to drive carefully.
Strong recommendation if you have an opportunity to visit.

Excellent museum - very well laid out and presented, with helpful information throughout. It definitely helped going to the Knossos palace site beforehand, as the artefacts and displays made more sense, knowing the orientation of the site (and the full scale model in the museum was really useful). Spacious museum, clean toilets and small cafe - gift shop is not as good, missing out in an obvious opportunity for tourists’ money. Would recommend about 1.5 hours to see everything.
